X-23 hadn't wanted to talk to Jean but hadn't wanted to not talk to her either. Because that would mean she was letting Jean matter enough to care whether they were talking or not. She had been doing just fine on her own and didn't want all of that worry and concern stinking up the air around here. It made her skin itch in a weird tingly way.

But it's hard to feel all of that when you're staring at someone with hearts swirling around their head. What do you even do with that?
