Why are gods like this? Gods (derogatory). But okay, at least he gets free, and not forced into love with anyone, so...that's at least something. He does feel bad about breaking in, still.

He should just leave, but...well, it's kind of tempting to stay? Even Peter Parker can't be 100% well-behaved all the time. Also how can he know if this Eros guy is actually hurting anyone if he doesn't see what is going on? (Wow, bad logic, Peter?) In the end, he does decide to stay to make sure that no one is actually getting hurt by this. What is he going to do if someone is getting hurt? Well, he's not stupid enough to think he can singlehandedly fight a god, but maybe negotiation will work, who knows, he kind of just tries things as they come at him.
