[Steph can't help but wonder what exactly these kids have been getting up to that they can afford a damn mansion with a beautiful pool. Maybe they signed up with one of the Guilds and these are the perks that come with it.
She really needs to talk to Cass about her potential plan to join the Society, but she doesn't want to do it now.
What she wants to do is enjoy the pool; she couldn't really, with the one inside where it's well-lit and there are lots of people. But it's dark, and it's just her and Cass, who's seen her scars a hundred times.
Cass takes off her socks and shoes, and Steph does the same. But while Cass is busy rolling up her pants, Steph is shimmying out of hers to leave in a pile with her socks, shoes, and jacket.]
Mind the splash.
[It's a warning for Cass, before Steph jogs the last couple of steps to the edge of the pool and dives in.
The warning wasn't really necessary, her entry into the water is smooth enough not to create too much of a splash back, and she surfaces again a few seconds later, grinning.
Boys are stupid. She isn't going to let them ruin her night.]
