His words resonate deep in her heart, and her expression softens. She likes to think that eventually, Hippolyta had grown to accept the choices Diana had made, but until she's able to return to the island (if she ever can), she has no real way of knowing. "I do think I am on that path for myself. I just don't know where it will lead me yet." All she knows is that she has a duty to mankind, to guide and protect them. This place seems like it needs some of that.

Diana's brows raise at the description, and tick a bit higher at the mention of Zeus. She's glad it's easy for her not to think of him as her father, really, as it would make David's comment... incredibly uncomfortable to consider. It isn't that she's unfamiliar with Zeus' proclivity to seek company outside his marriage bed, but she's never met someone who was so glib about it. Her people certainly aren't, even though she's one of his daughters. She decides not to point that out right now, so she doesn't make things awkward for him.

"That's a telling description, but I can handle a little flirting," she assures him. There isn't a shred of doubt in her voice. "Any meeting between us would be purely diplomatic. But I appreciate the forewarning." While lessons in diplomacy weren't her favorite as a child, she certainly learned a lot from them. An amorous king won't faze her at all.
