He knows better if he slows down to think. He and Fran took much longer to become friends, and a good two years to have anything like the field team they grew into. But he's feeling raw tonight.

David's comment gets a laugh, though.

"I can get you close enough. Just say the word."

They stop briefly at the other frozen fellow. Sure enough, a hug melts him right out. Balthier lifts them up again, but they lose any victims; Filter must have switched filters.

There's a ruckus and a flash off to the right, so he heads that way. They come into a break between some of the bigger buildings into a city park. And there's Filter. He holds them near a building, Filter's back to them for the time being.
