[He's silent as she takes her time. He understands why. She's spent most of her adult life resisting Belos, hiding away from him, one of the only ones that could see the truth about what he was. She's known for a long time his control meant he was bad news. He can't imagine the dread she must have felt as things got worse and worse.]
[Then she found out about the Day of Unity.]
[And she had people she loved she'd desperately wanted to protect. And he couldn't even say one of them was safe with Luz in her world, since King was ripped away from Luz's arms. So he sits in silence.]
[He waits until she comes back, until she's ready for it.]
We saw you, Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf after the draining spell first started. You were all out cold, but still breathing. We were some of the only ones still awake.
[Their plan hadn't failed because Eda had been drawn here to this world. It...had just failed.]
[Somehow.]
Towards the end, though, we couldn't see everyone from the palace so we don't...know...what happened. All we knew was the draining spell stopped. The Collector moved the moon and then my coven mark stopped killing me. But we had to escape after that.
[It's not an answer. They lost sight of them during the fight with Belos, and he has no idea what the terrible child did after they went to the Human Realm.]
I know it's...a lot to take in. But you were at least all alive when we saw you last. You were still breathing.
King was alive too, and he was smart enough to trick the Collector into stopping the spell. That means he's smart enough to potentially keep tricking them into not hurting him.
[If he plays the part with enough cleverness, maybe he can keep the Collector from killing their new playmate.]
There's still hope.
[He believes that. Even after being crushed under the weight of Belos' influence his whole life, he's able to still have it. Belos had made a mistake in making him think he had a higher purpose, that he was doing something good, that he was fighting for a brighter future.]
[Because even though Hunter had done so much wrong, even though he'd had his sense of right and wrong twisted, Belos still raised him thinking good was a thing that should be done and that the world should be fought for. What he'd done for manipulation accidentally gave Hunter a conscience. One that he was able to eventually orient in the right direction.]
[His faith had also reoriented too. He especially had faith in his friends. They'd find a way back somehow, and find a way to fix it.]
