( considering her unique circumstances, eda is no stranger to seeing others recoil in horror and fear of her. it's practically a baked-in aspect of her curse; the terror that the sight of the beast inflicts on others. it's one of the few things that she occasionally likes about it. occasionally, occasionally, occasionally. it is mostly a burden.
however, the terror in front of her now is something completely different. something more poisonous and insidious than a feral beast. hunter jerks away with a movement that speaks volumes, an echo of familiarity. he pulls even further inside of himself, much like a wounded animal. cowering and small.
eda's eyebrows furrow, tightly pinching together as she shoves down a wave of revulsion. there's another part of her, the little bit that remains, that is screaming in fury and outrage. that much needed to be kept in check as well. )
Oh, kid.
( one of her hands reaches out for him, just barely making it forward before eda thinks twice. hunter doesn't know her like that. her touch might only frighten him, rather than bring comfort.
instead she pulls her hand back then pushes it forward in a short movement, trying to imitate the act of breathing. )

Just breathe. It's going to be okay.
( is it? )
