Gravity don’t mean too much to me
Who: Nico di Angelo
demigoth and OPEN
What: There are rooftops. Teenagers must sit on them dramatically.
When: March 17th
Where: The Descendant in Central City. More specifically its roof.
Content Warnings: N/A
[ When a teenager is feeling particularly contemplative or wants to be alone without being far, there is only one place to be: the roof. Whether it’s the roof of Pluto’s temple, or the roof of the low rise that houses a bar, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that nobody’s going to bother him, but he can get to a Kool-aid fast if he wants one.
Nico’s been up here quite a bit lately. He’s hated this world from day one, and the urge to burn it all down was staved off when Will Solace landed in a Confluence two months later.
Now, Will is suddenly, inexplicably gone. No prophecies, no quests, no signs of monsters. Just: gone. Nico has spent days looking for him. Checking his phone for anything. Dropping in on random locations that Will kinda sorta maybe looked at once.
That Will could be dead is out of the question. Nico would know. No one he cares about has died in this world, and there’s no proof that he can still feel it when they do, with a different Hades ruling a different Underworld. But no, he would know. He’d have to know. How could he not know, with his own boyfriend?
It’s like Will was never here. If it weren’t for the things around the Hurly-burly house that they’d commandeered in Sunset Falls and the teachers at school still calling his name at attendance, there’s nothing to say it wasn’t a bad dream.
He hates that there’s anything anywhere. It has nothing to do with why he’s been staying in the attic above Jason’s bar for over a week. That’s just… it’s just a change of scenery, he chides himself. It’s not a sign or nothing. This is just more convenient, and Nico doesn’t have to go to the food shopping.
The roof is better for sitting too. He can sit on the ledge and swing his feet. The Hurl has steep gables, loose shingles and tiny cast iron roof fences that get in the way. ]
