[Accelerator isn't expecting much, either. There's the light (currently green), the switch that lets him change modes, and the cord that runs from the device up to the electrodes stuck into the back of his head. Not much else, since the computer requires being removed from the choker for maintenance and charging.
As far as he knows, anyways. One big reason he hasn't been able to do anything about this himself is because disconnecting it from himself renders him unable to the processing capacity needed to examine it. He's stymied because of that.
Anyways, he isn't expecting much. The Alliance employees who installed the thing didn't tell him about some way to connect it to an external computer while still hooked up to him, but it can't hurt to let Donnie have a look. If he sees something new then great, if not, no harm done. Right?
Right?
He stays still, pointedly looking away when Donnie steps closer, and everything is fine until it's suddenly not. Contact with Donnie's fingers causes the light to flicker, something that looks minor enough to overlook, but for the device the abrupt introduction of a new connection is making the processor stutter.
It's a feat, honestly. Despite all of Accelerator's complaints this computer is a powerful one because, frankly, it needs to be. Even the average person's brain is incredibly complex, so having to fill in the gaps for a kid who can do complex mathematics on a quantum scale in fractions of a second is no joke, even if it can't measure up to his expectations. Even in normal mode it's fulfilling some of his esper calculations: it's received the measurements inputted as Accelerator senses the vectors from the UV light beaming down on them, constantly calculating and recalculating the formulas needed to act on that additional perception and allow for his personal reality to reflect it off of his body.
It probably isn't all that pleasant to experience. It certainly isn't for Accelerator, whose connection is getting entirely disrupted. In less than a second his thoughts are suddenly halted, the calculations keeping his body balanced and upright disappear, and his hold on his coffee and his crutch falter. His expression slides into something wide-eyed and blank as his legs give out from underneath him, no longer able to support his body weight without the necessary signals from his brain. Passively, he can tell his surroundings are shifting directions, but he can't put together why that's happening.]
