Donnie's holding his breath in the meantime, as though doing so would minimize any further distractions while Leo prepared himself to open another portal.

As soon as he sees that familiar blue light flare to life he tenses, watching it expand into a size more expected of his brother's abilities. But there's no time to think about that, and already Leo's shoving him through.

Once he is, Donnie makes a lunge for the ladder, his fingers just barely snagging one of the rungs, but he clings long enough so he can hook his other arm around the ladder. Swinging to the side to give Leo space, he throws out his other hand to help pull his brother.
