Anxiety is still threatening to send him into some kind of spiral, but it's all mixed up in the depressed resignation that took over his life when he was ten, so he just looks tired. Not for one goddamned second was it ever worth it. They didn't ask to be created, and they definitely didn't ask to be part of the Level 6 Shift Project. Me and those fucking researchers took advantage of them for our own gain.

They should be, he doesn't know, punching him, or at least yelling at him. It really sucks how nice the two of them are, he doesn't deserve this much kindness at all.]
