Normal police units are being told not to interfere with anything metahumans are doing. Any reports of Metahuman activity are immediately being passed from the police to Arcadian forces rather than the guilds. This will extend to even the more peaceful - and dangerous - towns. But given how Sunset Falls usually is, the town itself may be more of a threat to the guards than any metahumans. While they are still trying to enforce orders, they may be more reluctant to interfere given what a vital role metahumans have played in the last year in keeping the casualties here down.

As for Eros... Technically, as dimensional travel is back up and running - Eros isn't stuck anymore. He himself may not have figured that out just yet, as the mortals are proving more interesting than initially expected... at least, that's the excuse he's using as to why he's not managed to go back home yet. That said, the other dieties have no issue travelling between their realm and this one... and their familiars are permeating the land. Athena is particularly fond of sending owls to monitor the human world, and Mayuko may find herself being watched by a weirdly comforting (and intimidating) barn owl every now and again. If she were to find herself in trouble, she may be able to call out to it for some divine protection.

Which Sunset Falls may be in need of. The Mayor's office needs to be filled - that's why Mayor West served for so long. Without someone sitting in the office, things go to hell and not in a metaphorical way. The longer the mayor is out of office, the more chaotic and wild the magic in the town gets. This leads to things like the barrier between life and death growing thin and ghosts once again walking the streets, or the recently deceased becoming a little more animated and malicious.

All in all, it would take months for it to reach apocalyptic levels. But it's a bad idea for any mayor to take an extended vacation without a suitable understudy.
