[It catches him in a bad moment. He's just had to swing one guy around by a line of webbing to smack into a bunch of other guys, and the one good thing is that doing so has kind of cleared a nice little area for him to catch his breath. Except it does mean that he's in the middle of catching his breath, curling an arm around his ribs that are definitely at the very least bruised and squeezing his eyes shut to stave off a bout of dizziness that hits him. And of course that's when the new guy shows up.
He's saved by his spider-sense, helping him to avoid the blasts as he tries to make his way toward some decent cover. But Spidey's slower than he would be otherwise. The car he's trying to duck behind isn't even all that far. If it not for that body getting flung into his assailant, he may not have made it there. It makes him heave a sigh of relief, his body visibly slumping a bit.]
