“We both agreed to it; it’s not your fault.” He says this as firmly as he can, but the problem is that the frustration is leaking into his voice. It’s aimed at himself, at Donnie, at the situation, and Donnie is still recovering and Leo should lay off him but it’s bubbling over.
He rolls back onto his back, staring at the ceiling.
“I already told you that I don’t care what I’m dealing with. I… I want to help.”
He sounds put out now, so who knows how convincing that statement is.
