[Closed-ish] July birthdays!

What: Birthday party for both Tim Drakes

[Today is both Tim Drakes' birthday. In honor of this, Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is closed for the night for a "private event."

On the ground floor where the bar is and where there's the most open space, most of the tables and chairs have been pushed aside while some have been rearranged to accommodate the party. A taco bar is lined up on one side. Hard and soft shells are available, along with a variety of fillings people can choose to make their own tacos.

A projector screen has been set up in front of the bar, alongside a laptop loaded with a movie library.

The birthday cake is a coffee and chocolate ice cream cake with vanilla frosting. It's safely stashed in the kitchen's fridge until it's time for dessert.

Though this family is absolutely dysfunctional and its members don't all come from the same universe or timeline, they're going to make sure two family members have a good birthday party today. Jackass guilds be damned]

Positive. You're fine. If anything, they seem like they're the types to forget their own birthday.

[He laughs out loud then and then hushes, looking to see if either of the Tims was looking in their direction.]

I mean uh--not that different from the Tim I know. I bet Bernard remembers better than he does.

Tim's uh...oh.

[Did he just accidentally out Tim? His Tim doesn't hide it back home, has pictures of them together all over his social media. But what if the Tims here are ready to come out yet?]

I mean, uh, it's his best friend! They hang out all the time. He's a civvie.

[It doesn't take a vigilante detective to notice how fast Duke tries to change his answer but it helps]

Don't know about Tiny Tim but TJ's out and he and Superboy are a thing here.

The civvie part's kinda surprising though.

Oh. Okay. [He did not expect that. But it is a bit of a relief.]

Uh...you mean Conner right?

[He knows who Tim's best friend is but he doesn't want to find out Jon is actually the first Superboy in every other universe. It would be so weird.]

[God there are so many superheroes in their world]

Yeah, him. Not Clark's kid.

[Is that a sigh of relief? Maybe. Definitely.]

There are only so many crazy differences I can take.

[Jason snorts]

You're telling me. I used to think the family was a lot smaller until I got here.

[lightmyself]

I hadn't dealt with the multiverse. [But he knows it can be a Thing.] It's...unexpected.

You haven't even met half the family yet.

Apparently, yeah. I know about Tim, Stephanie, Cass, Damian, and you. Who else is there? You mentioned Bluebird before?

[Christ, the family tree is getting ridiculous]

Bluebird--oh, her name's Harper. She does her own thing most of the time, but she hangs out with Cass and Steph a lot and once jumpstarted Bruce's heart with a car battery.

[Just Bat things.]

There's Oracle--Babs. Does she exist in your world? Or as Oracle anyway. Or is she still Batgirl?

Babs is around. In my world, she was the first Batgirl before becoming Oracle. I know Cass and Steph became the next Batgirls after her.

[Jason is also nowhere near upset about there being more Batgirls than he is about how many Robins there have been. He's assuming Babs had a big say about the Batgirl mantle]

Yeah. And there's Batwing, Luke Fox. The only one of us who gets to fly without the batjet. And Batwoman, Kate. And Selina. She acts like she's not part of the family, but then she's teaching us fighting techniques in the BatCave.

Whatever she's got with B changes at the drop of a batarang so that's not really surprising.

The others I haven't heard of though. Luke's related to Lucius?

[It's a guess but it seems to be a pattern that the people closest in Bruce's circles would get involved in the Bat business somehow. Given how long Lucius and Bruce have known each other, perhaps it's inevitable that at least one of the Foxes would get suckered in too. Jason has heard that Lucius has kids too]
