[OPEN] Open For Business
Who: Dr. Archie Hopper
contocricket and Pongo, OPEN
What: Archie officially hangs up his shingle in Central to help out the only way he knows how: by giving heroes and non-superpowered people alike therapy
When: July 27th through August 31
Where: Hopper Psychiatry Office
Content Warnings: Potential for dark themes depending on characters' issues. Also please fill out Archie's Mental/Physical Health Permissions Post for when Archie is sizing you up professionally.
Archie wasn't the most tech-savvy but even he could use one of those basic templates to put up a professional-looking website for the new Central City location of Hopper Psychiatry Office. Unlike the one in Storybrooke, there was an actual waiting room though no receptionist. Everything was kept casual in calming shades of green and brown. No stark white walls which would ratchet up the anxiety of waiting to see the doctor. No hard plastic chairs, either. The faux leather couch and two faux leather chairs were designed for comfort for what was likely to be a stressful experience.
There was a warning on the website and also in the waiting room that those with entomophobia, cynophobia, or were allergic to dogs should see another specialist in addition to the standard "if this is a medical emergency, please dial 911". The About page was very upfront about Archie being a Starfallen with insectoid parts -- specifically his wings and the unsettlingly smooth feeling of his skin -- along with Pongo being a fully-trained therapy dog and an equal partner in the practice.
The previous patient left the inner office, but it was another five minutes before Archie himself came into the waiting room with a smile on his face. "You can come in now. Just needed to finish up my previous patient's notes."
The office where Archie did most of his work looked more like someone's private study than a medical office. It even had a fireplace. (Either the building was quite old or the architect had decided to use a less modern-inspired design when rebuilding over the remains of another building that superpowered individuals had destroyed.) At the moment, there was nothing on the wall save Archie and Pongo's certificates proving that they were formally licensed to treat patients. (Sadly, it was impossible to get their official papers from the World Without Magic they'd come from.) There was a coffee table in front of the fireplace with more faux leather furniture: a loveseat and stuffed chair at opposite ends and a full-sized sofa on the side facing the fireplace. A hook near the door had a rope leash dyed in various shades of blue and green.
Pongo looked up from his large doggie bed, wagging his tail in welcome. He would stay put unless he got some indicator that his presence would help calm the current patient...or unless he wanted to take a drink from his water dish.
"Please sit down wherever you like," Archie said, gesturing to the comfortable seats around the coffee table though, honestly, that didn't exclude the chair at the desk. (Though that one was hardwood and likely not as comfortable.)
