"You were trying to revolutionize the nuclear power industry in my world," David answered with a shrug. "And there's a complex history there. Including time working as a hero. But I'm not assuming that the history of my world applies to other worlds. Tends to be better that way."

And this guy isn't trying to steal anything, isn't on a rampage, ti's all fine if David's the one being asked. Or has the potential of being fine. Hell, Otto's been rather kind and polite already, so David's assuming better things.
