Honestly, it was a privacy decision for Peter. The boy had revealed under an overshare spell that he was in the LGBTQ community (which he did look up) and hadn't told anyone else, so Balthier made an effort not to dig until he left. Also clearly he was doing fine figuring things out on his own and had attracted exactly the kind of man he'd only previously dreamed of, so, it hadn't felt that important.
