You don't. You have a few options should you die:

You're ejected from the simulation. This is most often the case when the deceased was in the role of Starstruck.

You remain glitched in the AI's body.

Your consciousness disconnects from the model and you are left watching things play out like a cutscene.

You may even be unfortunate enough to hear the actual last thoughts of the AI as they died, should they have been coherent enough to have them. Starstruck's himself has no coherent final thoughts, he simply feels everything -- then nothing.
