"I wanted to believe them," Peter says, softly. Of course he did. He wanted to believe the Avengers were all good. But they're people. They aren't all good, and so-called villains aren't all bad. Still, it's not a great thing to be so unable to trust the Alliance.

"I guess so. Doesn't make me wanna join them, though. I'd rather try to find out without having to work for them, I think." In the end, he's still not sure what the right choice is. But he'd turned down being an Avenger, even when Tony had flat out asked him. He's still pretty sure that was just a test, but…still.

"Thanks, Bart. I'm not sure where to look yet, but there's gotta be some stuff out there."
