The atmosphere in the apartment has shifted. He knows something is up, it's not lost on him that Sleeper has been spending more time with Jason as of late — especially now that "with Jason" apparently means anywhere but here.

He tries not to take it personally, pushing away all the anxious what ifs that creep up in his thoughts. Jason isn't tired of him. He promised he wouldn't be, after all.

There's a rare moment when he and Jason are at home at the same time. Part of Dylan wants to just hide away and let him do his thing, but... something tells him he needs to reach out.

"Hey," Dylan calls, stepping into the living room. At least he has a conversation subject ready. "I finished reading Dracula. It really wasn't what I expected at all."
