I hear you. Besides, we aren't really set up to properly smoke meat so it will stay good for more than a day at absolute most. I can do some fun things, but not enough to keep everyone safe and watch the food.
That also means you get to keep your own ass safe outside of taking watches for sleep.

I'm able to get fresh meat for cooking, but I'm no botanist to be absolutely certain about plants. Just able to check for common toxins and such that won't agree with humans. This isn't going to be viable for more than maybe a few weeks if we want to avoid nutritional deficiencies causing problems.
