Bruce would never give up the cape and cowl unless things were truly dire for him. And even then, it would still take some convincing. The new guy sounds younger than Bruce, closer to Jason's age. Is he trying to be an imposter Batman? It wouldn't explain how different his suit looks. Is he trying to usurp the mantle? Whoever he really is, he's certainly chattier than Bruce.
