[1] Secret Identities are Hard Actually

Um... uh... ah...

[ Considering that Hibiki currently has an unlimited amount of money, Hibiki is spending a lot of time at the mall... even if high prices still cause her to instinctively balk... and can you really blame her? It's still kind of hard to believe that she can just... buy anything she wants!!

Still, that's not the point. Right now, she's standing outside of a store selling costumes and various costume parts... including masks that Hibiki has to genuinely wonder if they can keep her identity a secret when she works as a Hero. Plus, then there's the problem of if she can keep it on when she transforms.

Well, since finances are far from an issue, she can technically get whatever she wants... but the problems currently are the fact that she can't decide on a mask, and the big problem... how she'll keep it on after transforming into her gear. It would always leave her hairclips on... maybe it'll still work? ]

Nn... would this really keep my identity a secret...?

[ Speaking out loud about it probably doesn't help, Hibiki. ]

[2] Unintentional Fame

[ Hibiki never intended to become famous. Obviously, she was informed that working as a Hero would have some level of publicity with it... but she just can't see herself as someone famous like Tsubasa or Maria. She figures she can just keep a low profile... using a cheap orange mask by setting it down, transforming, and then putting it on. Miraculously, it works better than Hibiki had expected.

Unfortunately, while the issue of keeping her identity a secret has been handled(?), it does not change the fact that Hibiki is... the epitome of everything unsubtle about being a Hero. ]

Encore! Encore!!

E-Eh!? Huh!?

[ Hibiki's just finished knocking the lights out of a group of criminals that had just attempted a pretty brazen bank robbery, and since her Gear runs on her singing, she sang the entire time.

This is not the first time she's had to do this since she ended up here, and it looks like she's started making some fans thanks to her songs. ]

U-Um! An encore!? H-Hold on... HUH!?

[ Oh god, she's famous now. What does she do. She's not ready for this. ]

We all know how wildcards work. Plot with me at OddEyes or at my OOC Intro if you want something like a closed prompt for something like, I dunno, roommate nonsense? Which I thought of making a prompt for but it felt hard to do something like that as an 'open' prompt.

[ River can join the rest of Hibiki's "friends who are good at school" back home. Not that any of them are here, but it's the thought that counts. Truthfully, Hibiki's had to sleep in the same room as the rest of her friends a few times for overseas missions, so rooming with River isn't exactly hard to adjust to. That being said, it's the first proper living situation she's been in where she hasn't lived with Miku.

Still, for however long that they're rooming together, Hibiki still wants to be friends with River. It's a shame, however, that River doesn't just let her cheat and look off of her work since she does so well... but then again, nobody let her do that back home either, so she shouldn't have gotten her hopes up.

River wishes for a bigger challenge... Hibiki wishes for an escape from this one. ]

Yeppppp...

[ Her head thunks against the table. ]

My teacher is gonna kill me...

[ If she ever sees Miku again, she's going to thank her profusely for being the main reason why Hibiki hasn't flunked out of high school before getting here. You only realize how much you're missing once it's gone... ]

I'm fairly certain that's illegal. Even here. [River shifts some books and papers aside and seats herself crosslegged on the desk, rather than pull up a chair. If there's one thing Hibiki may have learned about River in their short time together, is that River does not know how to sit normally, properly, in a chair.

Or rather, she does and chooses not to.

She peers down at the work being done to see where she can help.]

Are you sure? Teachers are scary...

[ She certainly feared her teacher back home at Lydian, that's for sure. She's exaggerating, obviously, but while Hibiki has come to learn that River is allergic to sitting in a chair normally, River may have probably figured out that more than anything else, this Symphogear-wielder's greatest weakness isn't a situation in which she isn't able to sing... but homework, and she crumbles both mentally and physically in the face of it. ]

Everything... I didn't pay attention in class so I don't have any notes, and my brain just... dies the second I look at the equations...

Equations are the best part. Math is logic. It makes sense. What equations are troubling you?

[She moves a chair over and sets it next to Hibiki's chair. Though hers is backwards and she perches on it, resting her elbows against the chairback.]

I will try to explain the best I can. I've already been through college, at home. I feel qualified to aid in your homework.

[ You are on a completely separate level compared to Hibiki, River... she respects that, even if she can't imagine it for herself. ]

Whoa, seriously!? Man, you really are amazing!!

[ Hibiki meanwhile, as River will quickly start to realize, is the complete opposite... but she makes up for it with hard work, even if she's very clearly still not enjoying it. ]
