Despite knowing that the large robots are the best way to defeat the monsters, Diana can't help but shy away from them. She's just now starting to get used to the technology in this world, and that... that seems like a little much to try and handle all at once. Besides that, she'd been warned that her piloting partner might see some of her memories, and the idea hadn't exactly thrilled her. There are some things she'd rather not share with a stranger, or even someone she knows. She's more useful on the ground, she decides, helping get civilians to safety.

Easier said than done.

Even the smaller kaiju are tough. It takes her a little time, but she learns how to spot the weaknesses in their scales, and aim her blows for those. She doesn't relish trying to kill them, but relocation doesn't seem like a very feasible option. They don't seem evil--they're just beasts. But the safety of the people living here means she has to do whatever it takes to stop the kaiju.

This one, though, is a little bigger than others she's faced. It swipes at her with its huge claws, and even a glancing blow drives her halfway through a building. She hears the offer for help go out over the comms, and quickly gives her location before launching herself with superhuman speed at the kaiju again, her punch cracking across its jaw and snapping one of its teeth.
