  The faculty of Lofty Heights has a lot to do before the school year actually starts — prepping their classrooms, working out a curriculum, getting to know each other, getting the office to order the right supplies.



• The Wormhole Projectors on the Bus Go Pew Pew Pew
  The bus stops for Lofty Heights students are peppered throughout each of the cities. Parents and students alike are waiting there to be picked up.
  
  Once you're on the road, things seem normal... until a womrhole opens up. The bus goes right through it, and suddenly all you can see out the window is clouds below... and the massive floating school complex on the horizon.



• In-School Interaction
  Are you lost on your way to your next class? Having trouble getting your locker open? See a friend and want to chat? Or maybe there's a pack of Seniors on the pros wl for new students, looking to do a little bullying hazing.

What? Yeah, dude. Of course. We had to say goodbye, y'know? Like, yeah, it's only for a few hours and we've all been through way, way worse, but... I don't know, it's still pretty important—if not academically important, than socially important. All that really happens on the first day academically is getting a bunch of syllabi, but... I don't know, maybe it'll be way different at a school full of superheroes. Gonna be fun either way.

( it's totally okay because venom and eddie have so much love to give!! they hug him like he's going off to war and when they let go, venom fluffs his hair. )

[ Dylan lets his hair be ruffled, still grinning. Maybe someday he'll be embarrassed by this kind of physical affection, but right now he's drinking it all in. ]

A little? [ a lot. ] I was only a month into 9th grade back home, and it didn't start off great, but... I feel like things'll be different if it's Superhero School. I won't feel so weird and different.

I guess this is kind of how the mutant kids feel back home when they're invited to go to the Xavier Institute? And they turn out okay and happy.

( eddie squints. )

Mutant is a pretty rude thing to call your friends, but, yeah, maybe. Chances are it'll be like that, yeah. Better, probably.

( and since eddie and venom haven't quite mastered the art of broadcasting, chances are dylan can pick up most of their internal debate, which sounds like:

ALLOW ME TO TELL HIM THAT WE ARE PROUD OF HIM!! AND THAT WE LOVE HIM! WE WILL KILL FOR HIM!

Yeah, okay, but he's going to school, not going to war. We'll see him in, like, literally a few hours.

[ Dylan is tempted to correct him, that mutants are an actual minority in his world, but he doesn't want to open up a complex political discussion at this exact moment. They can have that conversation later.
