Chris was nervous as she entered Hibiki and Maria's apartment. Not only did it all seem fancy and upscale in a way that reminded her of some of Tsubasa's venues, it was someone's else's home that she'd be staying in. She always felt nervous about such things, even when it was two of her friends.

Nevertheless, she was determined to make it work. Smiling nervously, she turned to Hibiki.

"Maria's supposed to be here too, right?"

[ In Hibiki's defense, she was kind of like Tsubasa and Maria now, so it was totally fine, right? Yeah, she's just gonna tell herself that. She smiles back at Chris reassuringly. ]

Mmhm, yep! Maria-san, Maria-san!! Guess who just ended up here!!

[ ...and then immediately start yelling out in the apartment for Maria. ]

[ maria had finally settled her last post of the month (she often recorded her posts in batches so she could have a bunch of time to edit them) when she heard the door open to her and hibiki’s shared apartment. she knows the only one with access is hibiki herself, but there’s two pairs of feet— ah, there’s the call out. thanks, hibiki.

at least cat ears had their perks. she makes her way out to the foyer, only to go wide eyed at the sight of the new girl. ]

Chris! When did you get here?! [ runs over with a grin on her face. ] I’m glad to see you safe, at least… but are you alright? Nothing too seriously hurt?

[ Chris was about to admonish Hibiki for yelling, when Maria came out. At first, she didn't notice any difference. ]

I just arrived. [ She smiles. ] And I'm just fine. Hibiki found me right after I showed up.

[ Waitaminute. Chris looks closer. ]

...Ears...

[ Hibiki's wolf ears and tail are also out as she looks back at Chris, then at Maria, and back to Chris. ]

Hm? Ears? ...Oh, right!

[ Sorry, Maria, Hibiki is suddenly right next to you and giving you a BIG hug, while also looking back at Chris. ]

Look, Chris-chan! Aren't we both super cute now?

[ Her tail is wagging wildly... it might have to be something that Chris gets used to seeing, considering how Hibiki is. ]

That's good to hear. It's Hibiki who finds everyone first, it seems...

[ at least maria had the audacity to look embarrassed when it came to her animal bits. and she isn't even remotely surprised when hibiki locks her into an embrace. this is just her life now-- victim to hibiki's affection since the one who would be most okay with it is not with them.

but moving on. ]

They ended up happening to me when I first arrived here. It was surprising, to say the least. [ a sheepish laugh. ] It's not the weirdest thing, however. It's this that's the weirdest.

[ and at that, she holds up two converter pendants-- one for airgetlam and the other for gungnir. ]

Ehhh?!

[ To which thing is Chris reacting?! The ears, or the pendants?! Judging by how she looks between all of them, it's both.

But she regains her composure a moment later, shaking her head. ]

Honestly...this confluence stuff is majorly confusing! I wonder if anything happened to me when I went through it...

Right!? I've sort of just given up on trying to make any sense of it.

[ Granted, it didn't take long at all for that to happen, but Hibiki is still valid in doing so. Confluences are weird, man. ]

Mm... maybe! I guess it's just a matter of figuring it out! I'm sure that if anything happened to you, you'll end up discovering what it is eventually! It took me a month to figure out which abilities I got, after all!

I'm still trying to make heads or tails of it, however all I've figured out is that they can happen at any time, and that they connect this world to other worlds-- like ours.

[ or at least, that's what she had pieced together. it was all so complex... ]

But Hibiki is right- if the confluences gives you some sort of ability, they usually appear sooner rather than later. But for the pendants... both of them do work. I've opted to use Airgetlam as my main one, and Gungnir only in emergencies.

That probably makes the most sense, using Argeitlam like that. Don't want to confuse people, right?

[ She takes out her own pendant, and stares at it for a moment. ]

I'm just glad I didn't show up with the Nehushtan Armor or something...

Uwahhh, the Nehushtan? Yeah, that'd be pretty crazy...

[ Chris' little scary phase with the Nehushtan, plus, well... let's face it, that armor leaves so little to the imagination that, looking back, Hibiki is a little surprised that Chris was able to wear it for as long as she did.

Still, she has a feeling that the Nehushtan isn't really a topic to stick to right now. Not when Chris has just arrived, after all! They should celebrate! Or something! Though is this really something to be celebrated? Gah, she's using her brain more than usual, she's just gonna stop doing that. ]

Yep, and then I've got my own Gungnir! Not that I've really used any other relics like you two, ehehe!

[ Well... technically, there's Durandal, but she seriously doubts something like that would end up in her hands again. What the heck would she even do with it if it did? ]

Just make sure that if you're transforming, you put on a mask or something right away afterward! It's a bit of an extra hassle, but you still gotta if you wanna keep your identity secret and stuff.

[ Their gears don't exactly cover their faces, after all. Hibiki's usually just been tossing a mask up before transforming so that it doesn't get lost in the transformation, and then just putting it on after the fact. It'd be nice to figure out something a little more convenient, though...

[ maria felt a little lost- yes, she's heard of the nehushtan armor, but she's never seen it, in action or otherwise. but something tells her that maybe she shouldn't pry, due to hibiki and chris' reactions as a whole.

and then hibiki shows off her own gungnir and things have moved on. well, even if she wanted to ask, she can't anymore. ]

I don't think you would be able to, Hibiki... [ a weak laugh. though the possibility of her being able to does flitter across her mind for a moment. ...

nah, too much. anyone else using airgetlam but her sends an odd chill down maria's spine. on the topic of masks... ]

It does help, since S.O.N.G. itself does not exist, and we're relying heavily on the Alliance and their protections here. If you need one, I can always make one. I've been learning how to sew. [ if only for her influencer status....... ]

A mask? What am I, some kind of phantom thief?

[ She sighs for a moment, before nodding. It really did sound sensible, even as ridiculous as it was. ]

But I suppose I can wear a mask. Maria, I'd be glad if you could make me one.

Aah, phantom thieves, huh? Well, it's not good to steal things, but that might be fun!

[ Hibiki, please— ]

But yeah, It's pretty important, I think. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I'm glad I did... being famous would be way harder otherwise!

[ Seriously, how does Tsubasa handle it? ]

Fame is a huge beast that many cannot handle... you should have seen Hibiki before I had come, Chris...

[ she will call you out for your nonsense, hibiki. ]

I'll have to know what you want the mask to look like, and about a week or so, but you can leave it to me.

I see. Well...I'll accept your guidance if you want to give it, Maria. If I'm gonna be working alongside Hibiki, that is.

[ She nods; Maria is older after all, and always seemed to make wise decisions...when she wasn't playing bad guy, anyway.

She ignores Hibiki's comment entirely. ]

Hm. Maybe something like a domino mask, but red and white? It'd go over my eyes, of course.

[ Honestly? The right decision here, Chris. ]

Ooh! That'd look super cool on you, Chris-chan! Hey, if you got a hood as well, you could be Utazukin!

[ Man, she actually could... this isn't even a false observation by Hibiki, she'd just outright be the most fitting for "Utazukin" out of all the Wielders. ]

Hibiki, we're trying to go for something that matches Chris, not something that goes against it.

[ even though arguably chris could. but enabling the bikki, she will not. ]

I'll get started as soon as I can. It gives me as much practice with sewing as possible.

[ Chris all but snarled at Hibiki. ]

I'm not gonna be Utazukin! I'm not cool or cute enough to pass as her! No one is, except for Ayahi-san!

[ With the fourth wall quite ready smashed and broken, she turned back to Maria. ]

Thanks. I can just use something simple from the store until then, right?

[ Hibiki won't say anything else on the Utazukin topic, but being Hibiki means that she at least gets that out. Besides, considering how Utazukin is otherwise known as the Little Red Singin' Hood... could she possibly be based off of Chris somehow? None of them know for sure, but Hibiki thinks it'd make sense.

Still, she'll not argue with Chris on the whole Ayahi-san deal. She knows better than to do that, at least. Besides, the fourth wall could use a break. ]
