[ Much like Loki's last party-venture, this is set up very much in the same vein. a large ballroom for dancing needs. Tables and waiters passing around hors d'oeuvres and drinks. At the entrance of the ball room, there’s a fancy mask waiting for you if you don’t have one already. There’s a strict dress code for the event this time and Loki expects everyone to dress accordingly.

The masks also have a spell attached to them. They’ll afford you complete privacy. No one will recognize you under the mask. Unless, of course, you take it off and let them know. Perfect for the party guest who may want to indulge without causing a fuss. Hit up a partner and see where the evening takes you.

This event wouldn’t be complete without candy, of course. There are candies arranged on the tables in all types and colors. In front of them is a small description regarding each kind of candy. Be sure to read them carefully, as Loki has added a little . . . extra to the sweets, to give them a little . . . zing. ]

[As if there was anywhere else David would rather be on a night like this. There was the need for a break, as Balthier had happily reminded him, and David wasn't going to turn it away. Especially since he had enjoyed himself so much at The Opherium before. And because he perhaps wanted to find this other Loki and talk to him a bit more, just because he was invested in the happiness of his friend Sephiroth.

Fall was on them, which meant that David was in desperate need of keeping warm at the party, so he'd chosen something a bit more covering than the dress he'd chosen last time. Sure he'd laughed over the whole 'trying to be subtle' and yet still being a man showing up in Prodigy's colors, but David had chosen that it would be worth it. What was more, the simpler mask he had brought with him he discarded at the door when he learned there was more privacy to be found in the one offered to him. So hey, true privacy for the night.

All in all, it was a happy night that echoed one a while before. He offered his love a brief kiss, a promise to find him throughout the night, and pulled off to mingle. He caught himself a few pieces of candy to help his energy stay up through the night, and then moved out into the world.

Throughout the night he nibbled on white chocolate, perhaps all the better to talk to others with, not that he gets the risk. Someone didn't read the fine print. Still, he happily joins conversation without hesitation with any who look ready to talk or lonely.

And, of course, whenever he finds a likely person alone, he pauses before them, extending a hand to them. A silent invitation to dance.]

[OOC: I welcome anyone to dance, talk, and otherwise have fun. Permission given for any candy interactions beyond someone approaching on the alcoholic one. Flirtations are welcome, but he won't indulge them.]

[Mayuko nods when David extends his hand, taking it with her own gloved hand. She's been making the rounds herself, a dance here, a short conversation there. Hasn't gotten to the chocolates yet, but perhaps in a bit.]

Your dress is stunning. I cannot fathom why we have abandoned such things for more frequent use, given the modern day and age could have construction techniques to make such things work well.

[He guides her to the dance floor and takes her with a careful touch into his arms.]

[Mayuko steps in, accommodating for the hoop of the skirt, and places a hand on his shoulder.]

All of the credit goes to the Lapointes in Sunset Falls; with only a few days notice, they were able to craft a masterwork.

[If the ball really was "inspired" by the Alliance, no doubt the news spread through the social media channels like wildfire once it was confirmed.]

Really, though, if this became the fashion, I would have to wake up much earlier in the morning to make myself presentable. And invest in a stronger coffee maker.

It truly is of great skill.

[He doesn't mention that, with a touch, he can sense how much love was put into the making of it too. The dress was proud, beyond pride, to be so fabulous and so happily worn. Sometimes psychometry could be quite the experience.]

See, I can't believe that with zippers and modern construction techniques we can't do ourselves some good with things like this if people want them, without them being so hard to put on. Though coffee makers are worth investing in.

I will be sure to carry your regards to them. In turn, you are cutting an elegant figure yourself. And I'll admit your shoes look far more comfortable than mine.

It's sad that people don't dress up as they used to, even from a few decades ago. Maybe some modern innovations would encourage a return to form.... Not to pry, but are you in the industry?

I didn't really think my heels would go with this outfit, and since there was dancing, I wanted something more flat.

I'm not in fashion, which I'm sure there are a great many people thankful for.

[A soft laugh as Mayuko slightly picks up her skirt, the edge now clear of the floor. One hazard avoided!]

I'm glad it's appreciated. It can be hard to ensure one doesn't do it, and honestly, hurt feelings make sense when such a mistake happens.

[It has been a while since she last danced with a partner, ballroom-style or not. But she is attentive to David's lead and sure of her own movements.]

Another talent fallen out of the mainstream. Why would there be hurt feelings, though? If it's something one or both partners is unfamiliar with, it could be excused.

I'm not sure if you mean a verbal, or literal stepping on toes when you say it's fallen out of the mainstream. Though I fear where I'm from you're quite right on both marks.

Still, I've known ladies that would be upset to even be asked to dance by someone without requisite grace.
