[ Much like Loki's last party-venture, this is set up very much in the same vein. a large ballroom for dancing needs. Tables and waiters passing around hors d'oeuvres and drinks. At the entrance of the ball room, thereās a fancy mask waiting for you if you donāt have one already. Thereās a strict dress code for the event this time and Loki expects everyone to dress accordingly.
The masks also have a spell attached to them. Theyāll afford you complete privacy. No one will recognize you under the mask. Unless, of course, you take it off and let them know. Perfect for the party guest who may want to indulge without causing a fuss. Hit up a partner and see where the evening takes you.
This event wouldnāt be complete without candy, of course. There are candies arranged on the tables in all types and colors. In front of them is a small description regarding each kind of candy. Be sure to read them carefully, as Loki has added a little . . . extra to the sweets, to give them a little . . . zing. ]
š« White Chocolate: For those who needs a little honesty ( truth effect )
š· Alcoholic Chocolate: For those who need to loosen up ( slight aphro effects, please mark headers accordingly and communicate! )
š¬ Sour Candy: For those who are tired of being nice ( shorter tempers )
š Fruit Candy: For those who need to open up ( increased generosity )
If you have a question or comment to direct at the host, Loki is by the entrance dressed in red and gold with a mask to boot. heās instantly recognizable, compared to the masked attendees. ]
Welcome.
no subject
I was referring to the host.
[He nods in the general direction of the entrance, where he last saw him.]
no subject
I met him at the gala, but I donāt know if a discussion about theater makes well-acquainted. Iād be flattered if he said so.
[ Always be gracious towards your host, especially when theyāre a god. ]
But I know the younger, but not youngest, Loki better. [ A pause. ] Younger in appearance.
no subject
Ah. I believe that's the one I have yet to meet.
no subject
Maybe you have. I havenāt seen them in the same room.
[ All of the words Tim would choose to describe Loki say a lot more about Tim than they do Loki. Confusing, charming, forward, brash, amusing. ]
no subject
You're proposing he's living a double life as... an alternate version of himself.
That would be quite the trick.
no subject
[ Timās only playing, and he doesnāt want to anger a trickster god - or two - if someone mistakes it as an accusation. It was really just a stalling tactic to sidestep around describing his Loki. Er, not that Lokiās his. ]
But youāre well-acquainted, if he helped you choose your costume. Why didnāt he give you a mask?
no subject
[It's a funny thought, though. And it could be an effective ploy in the short term, given how many Lokis this place attracts.]
I didn't want one. The last masquerade I attended was enchanted in rather a different way.
no subject
I see.
[ He doesnāt quote, but he can read between the lines. An enchanted masquerade that makes you swear off masks? Itās not hard to see that something bad happened. ]
I donāt know what to think of the enchanted masks. I appreciate the idea behind them, but Iām uncomfortable with being surrounded by strangers. My own brother could be wearing one, and I wouldnāt know.
no subject
I don't believe they do anything to disguise one's behavior. Surely someone you were unable to identify would already be something of a stranger.
no subject
[ He wonāt be clarifying that heās uncomfortable with being surrounded by strangers that he canāt ID and catalog for future reference. They will only ever be strangers. ]
I just donāt agree with the choice. What if someone steals a mask and uses the anonymity to hurt someone?
no subject
Are you concerned they might be used to escape consequences?
no subject
[ He assumed. Oh, heās an idiot. Dammit, there is no way to track this many masks if theyāre party favors. ]
no subject
[If other people do, that's not his problem.]
And I doubt the enchantment will be lasting, regardless.
no subject
[ Some people donāt have the self preservation of a jam jar. ]
What makes you so sure?
no subject
...well, except for David, maybe.]
I have some familiarity with his magic.
no subject
[ Tim isnāt asking his name, in the spirit of a good masquerade, but heās curious how one gets familiar with Lokiās magic. ]
no subject
No. I simply like to discuss it.
no subject
I guess you could take the easy way and talk about it.
no subject
no subject
[ Tim will act like heās been being a little flip rather than explain how heās judging one Loki on the behavior of another. ]
no subject
Hm. My Planet's magic is different, but it may help to have a background.
[...or to be someone Loki is extremely fond of.]
no subject
[ Tim can't comment on his own world's magic, not being a practitioner nor being willing to discuss it in depth at a party. Not after one of the Lokis overheard way more than he should. ]
Does your background let you see through the masks? Would you know if my friends were here?
no subject
No. I am not versed in illusion magic.
Could you not contact them to determine it?
