[ Much like Loki's last party-venture, this is set up very much in the same vein. a large ballroom for dancing needs. Tables and waiters passing around hors d'oeuvres and drinks. At the entrance of the ball room, there’s a fancy mask waiting for you if you don’t have one already. There’s a strict dress code for the event this time and Loki expects everyone to dress accordingly.

The masks also have a spell attached to them. They’ll afford you complete privacy. No one will recognize you under the mask. Unless, of course, you take it off and let them know. Perfect for the party guest who may want to indulge without causing a fuss. Hit up a partner and see where the evening takes you.

This event wouldn’t be complete without candy, of course. There are candies arranged on the tables in all types and colors. In front of them is a small description regarding each kind of candy. Be sure to read them carefully, as Loki has added a little . . . extra to the sweets, to give them a little . . . zing. ]

( it's a shame that eddie can't recognize his roommate/landlord/best friend from beneath her mask. he's been slipping in and out of his all night, not quite keeping with the allure of the mystery. it's cool, but sometimes he gets distracted and pushes his mask up into his hair to better see the layout of things.

Yeah? I mean, I would. I totally would. But I'm here with this dude. And he's, like, super sweet. Feels like it'd be weird ditching him to go gallivanting with a tall, masked stranger. Also, my stomach sorta hurts, and spinning around in circles for a while might be a bad idea, considering... the aforementioned stomach thing.

[It isn't difficult for Diana to spot Eddie at the masquerade once he takes off his mask--she sometimes feels like she has a sixth sense for knowing where everyone in the house is at a given time. Or maybe it's because they drove here together, who knows. Either way, it's fascinating for her to watch Loki's magic at work; she spots Eddie, knows it's him, but the moment his mask slips down on to his face again, he's completely unrecognizable. Somehow.

She decides to test the bounds of the magic; she hasn't taken her mask off all night, and thus far, nobody has recognized her. But she thinks that if anyone has a chance, Eddie does.

Eddie completely blows it, and--what do they call it? Word-vomits at her about why he can't dance with her. She can't help it; Diana grins widely, and plays into it.]

Yes, a dance may not be a good idea in your current state. So tell me about this sweet man instead. Have you danced with him?

Oh, Ripley? He's super cool, man. Sorta shy, but really kind, and fun. And he's like the most honest dude you'll ever meet. And he's hot, which is never a bad thing... Like, twenty outta ten.

( eddie, stop talking. )

But, uh, he's sitting over there, if you'd ever want to meet him. He's the one with the cool knight thing going on.

[The name Ripley is familiar, of course it is, and her smile broadens as he says the name. A small part of her feels bad that she isn't stopping Eddie from revealing some of his (probably) innermost thoughts to her, but they're all very positive things, and things he'd likely tell her anyway, eventually. Mostly, she's just charmed by his enthusiasm.

With true interest, she looks to where he's indicated, and does indeed see a man wearing a knight-like armor. She nods as she turns back to Eddie.]

Very neat. I'm glad you came here with someone you care for so deeply.

( she's right in thinking that even if she weren't disguised, eddie would have spilled all of this to her. she's been high among his friends since arriving here, which is wild to think about considering she's a goddess and all.
