[ Much like Loki's last party-venture, this is set up very much in the same vein. a large ballroom for dancing needs. Tables and waiters passing around hors d'oeuvres and drinks. At the entrance of the ball room, there’s a fancy mask waiting for you if you don’t have one already. There’s a strict dress code for the event this time and Loki expects everyone to dress accordingly.
The masks also have a spell attached to them. They’ll afford you complete privacy. No one will recognize you under the mask. Unless, of course, you take it off and let them know. Perfect for the party guest who may want to indulge without causing a fuss. Hit up a partner and see where the evening takes you.
This event wouldn’t be complete without candy, of course. There are candies arranged on the tables in all types and colors. In front of them is a small description regarding each kind of candy. Be sure to read them carefully, as Loki has added a little . . . extra to the sweets, to give them a little . . . zing. ]
🍫 White Chocolate: For those who needs a little honesty ( truth effect )
🍷 Alcoholic Chocolate: For those who need to loosen up ( slight aphro effects, please mark headers accordingly and communicate! )
🍬 Sour Candy: For those who are tired of being nice ( shorter tempers )
🍓 Fruit Candy: For those who need to open up ( increased generosity )
If you have a question or comment to direct at the host, Loki is by the entrance dressed in red and gold with a mask to boot. he’s instantly recognizable, compared to the masked attendees. ]
Welcome.

Good point. Some chaos and thinking outside the box are also required in my line of work, as long as it doesn't get out of hand.
[ He unbuttons the top of his collar, hoping it will give him some reprieve from the warmth he is suddenly feeling. ]
Might I get your name? Or that's part of the mystery of the party?

I am Loki, God of Mischief and the owner of the Opherium. My theatre.

If this had happened in any other place, Jayce might have been inclined to believe he was being mocked. But he's already met all kinds of fascinating and not human individuals. A god added to the mix doesn't sound crazy. His eyes widen slightly, and then he gives a bow in return.
Then, allow me to apologize for the casual tone I used to address you before. I didn't know about your status. I have yet to see more of the building but it's a beautiful theater.

I'm not looking for worship, though I appreciate the compliment. I am quite proud of it.

[ He gives Loki a more relaxed smile, looking at him all over and thinking that he can imagine plenty of people willingly worshiping the god. Probably on their knees.
Jayce is almost startled by his own thoughts, feeling his face get warmer still. Truly, either the drink or the chocolate was too much. ]
One of these days I'll come to see a proper play. I always enjoyed the arts, although my skills fall in the scientific side of things. Perhaps it's because I am incapable of singing or acting that I find those capable of it very talented.
[ Jayce is terrible at lying, even if it's for something casual like a play, so he's not a good actor. ]
no subject
[ a scientist interested in the arts though. unusual. ]
What branch of science do you specialize in?
no subject
[ Jayce isn't new to feeling like an outsider or different from most, but on this planet, the feeling of isolation just got worse. ]
I am an inventor and an engineer. You name it, I can probably build it. [ He's kind of like The tony Stark of his world, without the same level of sass or haughtiness.] Back home, my partner and I mastered the way to fuse arcane magic with technology to create new artifacts and machines.
no subject
You'll probably find more people from "Earth" than anywhere else. It's . . . unfortunate.
[ at jayce's statement, his brow furrows momentarily though he seems bemused. ]
Mastered, is it?
no subject
[ Going by Loki's reaction, he's assuming that Earth isn't a place he's particularly fond of. ]
Well...I don't think magic can't be fully understood or controlled, it's too strong and inexplicable. That's what makes it so intriguing, so beautiful. But the things we're building with Hextech aim to help people, and we try to be careful with them.
[ The key word being 'try', but Jayce is speaking honestly. He also sounds like he's very fond of the arcane in general. ]
no subject
I am from a world called Asgard. But I've visited Earth a few times, so I have some familiarity.
[ with that, he clicks his tongue, the amusement deepening the lines on his face. ]
Is that so? How responsible of you. But perhaps magic is not a matter of being understood or controlled, but felt down to the very bones.
[ loki holds out his palm. waterfalls gush from his palms, palm trees seem to rise from his very skin and if jayce looks closely, there are animals like lions and tigers, roaming the expanse. ]
no subject
Asgard. I'll remember that name. What is it like? [ He is curious by nature, so of course, he would love to know more about the realm of the gods. He smiles again at the 'responsible' comment, but a moment later, his golden eyes widen and he takes a step back when water starts to pour from Loki's hands ].
Oh, wow, that's...gorgeous. [ He's clearly enthralled by the display, almost looking like a kid who's been told Christmas came early. He blinks quickly when he finally notices the animals, then brings a hand to his face to try - and fail- to hide how wide his smile is. ] Thank you a lot for this, Loki.
[ Seeing this kind of casual magic display means more to him than Jayce can put into words. ]
no subject
[ but he's pleased, as he always is with compliments and flattery. he closes his palm and they vanish. once he reopens it, it's like they were never there to begin with. parlor tricks.
as he dwells on asgard, loki answers, a little absently. ]
It was a world of magic and science. The jewel of the universe. Where everything was golden.
no subject
[ And perhaps Jayce is being too emotional about it, but so many people in his world think of magic as something to fear or distrust, that seeing it happen so casually makes him smile. ]
It sounds beautiful, and it makes me instantly curious about what sort of science the gods work with. [ Then he adds in a more sympathetic tone. ] I imagine you must miss it.
no subject
More than you know.
no subject
Who can fathom the mind of a god? But perhaps there's a kind of longing, a kind of homesickness, that is universal. ]
Perhaps with time, we will be able to go back home. We need to stay hopeful, right?
no subject
[ his smile is a little rueful. ]
I'm afraid that's not much of a possibility for me. Asgard is long gone and while the remainder of them thrive, it's best that I leave them to it.
no subject
I suppose you can make your stay here really count, then.
no subject
[ more or less. loki wasn't terribly committed before, but having visited new asgard and seeing his people settled, he sees more reason to set some roots. or at least, make life entertaining enough for himself until he leaves with sephiroth. ]
no subject
Do the gods have a lot of masquerade balls? Or does the god of mischief like dancing?
no subject
I just like parties. And I am fond of dancing.
