Moving In.

[ It's not quite the joyous occasion they were hoping it would be. The disappearance of one of their own has left a heavy air over the group, but they're determined to try to make something of the situation. And so they proceed with the move, their belongings loaded up in the back of a teleporting truck.

Neighbors are welcome to spy the new arrivals. A perfect collection of unlikely friends that look like they belong in a horror movie cast. You'll get a drink for your trouble - or something a little less legal (or more legal, if you aren't) if you offer to lend a hand. Evidentially, some among their number are not terribly well equipped to do heavy lifting. Damn sticky nerd arms. ]

HOUSEWARMING PARTY is written in slanted block print on a piece of cardboard, staked just outside the newly purchased manor seated near the edge of town. It is a utterly ridiculous piece of architecture, and the gathered teens have more space than they know what to do with.

So how better than to fill it with a house party?
There's a stunning indoor pool just begging to be cannonballed into. A classy lounge for enjoying a little existential angst and ennui. There’s enough guest bedrooms for anyone who wants to crash, though be warned: few are furnished. Some rooms are off limits, for your own sanity rather than theirs.

The music pumping through the place alternates between 80s metal and pop, with some newer tunes sprinkled in there for flavor.

There’s food, a legion of kegs and, well, that less than legal stuff is making the rounds too. ]

He's very Timmish, and that's very likeable.

[ Giving her a small smile. ]

[She nods, because Tim is very likeable.]

Good. If you didn't... I would have to kick your ass. [Is she serious? Is she joking? It's hard to tell.

Could she actually do it? Well, she would certainly try.]

Let's hope that doesn't happen.

[ He leans on the wall, peeking around outside. ]

Did you and Steph come together? You're friends? I came with the magical anime boy, Billy.

[louder_than_words]

I came with her and Tim. [She's their personal shadow-taxi.]

Best friends. [Her smile turns soft. She still gets hit by how nice it is... to have Stephanie around. To have Steph by her side instead far away or not-dead.

Also, she has no idea what anime is, but nods as if she understand.]

Mmm. So, you guys have known Tim a while, right?

[ Conspiracy time!! ]

Do you have any advice for me?

[louder_than_words]

[She considers the question. Tim is... complicated.]

Tim's smart. [She bites her lip. Tries to put her... brain-thoughts into mouth-words.] But he's also very dumb. And he will think himself into being dumb.

[She makes eye contact.] Don't let him think too much.

[ Loki nods sagely. She's super fucking smart, this one. ]

Yeah, that's the impression I got. I aim to make it too difficult for him to over-analyse things. He's very ... strict.

[louder_than_words]

He needs to be. [Or feels like he needs to be. If there's a difference.] We all do.

[That's the closest she'll get to answering Loki's initial question.]

But he also needs to... [What's that word Steph uses?] ...unclench, sometimes.

[Loki doesn't seem like a very... clenched person.]

[ He raises a brow at the phrasing, lips twitching. ]

I'll take that into consideration.

[She must have said something funny. One of those words-that-mean-other-things-too. This... happens a lot. To her.

She goes to pat him on the shoulder, but will pull back if there's any sign that it's not-welcome.]

He likes you. You like him. You know he can be dumb.

You'll be fine. [Oh, Cass, ever the romantic.]

You're a good friend to him, stay like that. Those are rare.

[ No comment on his own goals or endgames, offering a cheerful, supportive smile before he slips out of the corner she's hiding in, returning to the party. ]
