Chris had been surprised at the new home that the Alliance had helped her, Hibiki, and Maria obtain in Central City. It was rather large, with multiple bedrooms they didn't even need, and lavish to boot. It was a sign of what a star Hibiki had become, she supposed, but it seemed a bit excessive, even if she was going to be joining Hibiki as an idol as well as producing "content" for their various sponsors.

Chris wasn't sure how she felt about all of that, just yet. It seemed enormous to her, and the training she'd done so far for performing had been exhausting. Honestly, Chris was feeling rather self-conscious about all of it.

Nevertheless, today Chris wouldn't have to dwell, because she had just received news from Hibiki that several of their friends had appeared in the city. Chris immediately set to work; just like when she had friends over at home, she couldn't let them come home to a place that was less than perfect. What would they think if everything looked like a mess? More importantly, what would senpai think?

~~She would just have to not think about the conversation she had with Hibiki at Dylan's party. Nope. Nothing had definitely happened there.~~

Once a quick once over of the house was completed (it didn't take long despite the size, as they hadn't been living there long yet), Chris set to preparing snacks. It was just chips and vegetables with various dips and sodas...they hadn't had a chance to get anything that wasn't so American yet, honestly, but it'd be due in a pinch...

Chris had just finished setting everything out, when people started to arrive...

Miku was... very confused. In fact, she had been staring at the house that Hibiki had for what seemed like a minute, just unable to parse how big it was. Like, she knew Hibiki was an idol and saw the people with Hibiki merch so she knew her girlfriend was famous but not even Tsubasa had a place anything like this back home!

...Well, her family did, but that didn't count.

Eventually though, she was guided inside, and yep. Sure was a mansion in here how the hell even what. But then she saw Chris and... well, honestly she was still baffled.

"Chris. How is this... how?"

It's SO COOL!! Right!?

[ Here comes Hibiki, dashing over to Miku and just barely sliding to a stop. Her tail is wagging... and considering how often it's wagging, one may wonder if it gets tiring for Hibiki to always have that happening... but nah, it's fine. ]

I asked for something big, but I didn't think they'd give us something as fancy as this!

[ Someone clearly has not noticed just how influential she's become, least of all the amount of her merch people are wearing nowadays. ]

[...Okay, hearing that from Hibiki does at least make things make slightly more sense. Her girlfriend would be someone to stumble into having a mansion without actually meaning to.

But still, the place was huge, and she has no idea how they were going to manage to use all of it. She does manage to laugh a little nervously at the comment though, especially with how excited her girlfriend was with all that constant tail wagging.]

I mean, yeah. It's cool. And, uh... a bit much. [At least they weren't going to have to worry about moving again once Kirika and Shirabe showed up? ]

[ Benefits of being Hibiki's girlfriend... accidental mansions? Sure, yeah, that sounds about right. ]

Ahh... yeah, I guess you're right, it is a bit much... but hey! That's fine, right? We can even share one of the big rooms!

[ The most important part, clearly. ]

[Miku nervously giggles at the suggestion. It's not like she wasn't going to NOT share a room with Hibiki, but it is a good thing that they're already dating now and figured out how they felt about each other. The "storage space technique" doesn't really work when you have a spare bedroom or three. And live with other people. ]

I mean, yeah, it's definitely cool. Just nothing I thought I'd ever be living in.

[Of course, there was a catch what with the whole "content house" thing but honestly online videos are something probably wasn't that bad. Just needed to figure out what she'd be doing, is all.

But that was important for later. Now they have to... actually hang out with everyone and get used to the giant mansion that they were now living in. ]

[ It was a welcome revelation for Hibiki, realizing that since they're dating and everything now, there's no need for the storage space excuse... not that it was an excuse in the first place (because of course Hibiki didn't consider it to be an excuse), but now she doesn't need an excuse at all!

Sorry, Chris. Get used to these two being lovey dovey... after all, this is home, and that's where they should be doing that kind of thing, right? ]

Ehehe... me neither! Guess I must be really popular now after all!

[ Understatement of the century for sure... ]

[Miku blinks and then giggles at Hibiki's comment. ]

I mean, there are people walking around with stickers of you Hibiki. So yeah, I'd say you're really popular now. Maybe S.O.N.G. should have you start singing with Tsubasa-san and Maria-san once we get back home?

[Either way, she's going to go ahead and move a little closer to Hibiki now, wrapping her arm around her girlfriend's waist. ]

Ahh! You think I could!?

[ Not that Hibiki's really given much thought to what she'd do after Lydian. It'd make sense at least, considering that she'd be a graduate from a music academy... but she has been enjoying it. Her overworked schedule aside, that is.

Then, Miku's arms are wrapped around her waist, bringing them much closer and causing Hibiki's cheeks to redden slightly... though a smile quickly forms instead as she wraps her own arms around Miku as well. ]

Ehehe... maybe you should come and sing with me, then?

Of course I do. I mean, you're already doing it here!

[Her own face goes a little red when Hibiki's arms are wrapped around her, which honestly feels really dumb considering that the hug was her fault in the first place. But well, "new" relationship jitters.

Then at the thought of singing with Hibiki on stage her face goes even redder.]

I... uh... maybe? Let me have some more time to get used to everything else before we start worrying about that. [After all, the whole superhero thing is probably more important than the singing on stage thing, and she had a lot to get used to with Shénshòujìng. ]

[ The phantom of Chris' despair at being unable to prevent all of the lovey-doveyness around her aside, Hibiki holds Miku close... the happiness from having Miku here with her rising in her chest again. ]

Ehehe! I know, I know! And hey, I'll help you out as well!

[ They'd already started on helping Miku get used to properly using the Shenshoujing back before all of this happened, but it has been a few months since then for Hibiki, so she's happy to help out with that again. ]

Still, more importantly...

[ She tilts her head down a little, her new ears now right in front of Miku, twitching as if expecting something. ]

Do you wanna feel them? They feel super nice!

[ Is she a little excited about letting her girlfriend give her ear scritches? Maybe. ]

[She's definitely appreciative of all the help with... well, everything. Both with getting here and getting used to, well, having a ~~gear~~ Faust Robe.

But then Hibiki's tilting her head down and asking for Miku to touch her cute dog ears and of course Miku was going to do that. Her hand reaches out to rub at her girlfriend's ears, fingernail scratching against them a little as her hand moves.]

They do feel nice!

[That doesn't mean that she's not still confused on how Hibiki even has them but the Confluences were sure a weird thing. ]

[ Best not to question how the Confluences work, at least it's fitting, right? She lets out a giggle that transitions into a long sigh as she feels Miku's hands on her ears. ]

Aaaahhhh... the besssst...

[ Miku may have to get used to this, because Hibiki evidently responds very positively to the treatment. The hug almost turns into Hibiki just leaning on Miku, tail wagging at full speed as she sighs contently at the sensation. ]

[Oh, oh wow Hibiki just melts when people scratch her ears like this. Even if she hadn't been hugging Hibiki at the time she would be able to tell just how much the other girl liked the attention.

...Honestly, considering that they weren't in their room it might have been a little too much, and Miku quickly looks around to see how everyone else is reacting before turning her attention back to her girlfriend. ]

Maybe we should do more of this later?

Maybe you should.

[ The comment comes from over by where Chris is conversing with Tsubasa. Yes, she hears and sees all of this. ]

[Miku let out a nervous giggle at Chris's words, though she wasn't moving away from Hibiki just yet. ]

Sorry Chris! We'll be more mindful of where we are in the future!

Ah! Sorry, Chris-chan!

[ Despite her apology, Hibiki isn't moving away from Miku either. Despite Miku's agreement and Hibiki's apology, nothing has immediately changed, has it? ]

[Well that's not really true, something has changed. Miku stopped with the ear scritches. But yeah, she is still hugging Hibiki.]

So, uh, what exactly are we supposed to be doing to keep a place like this. The whole "content house" thing is pretty vague.

[ Hibiki's gonna end up asking for ear scritches a lot in the future, so she doesn't mind. ]

Mmmm... to be honest, I'm not sure! I mean, Maria-san already does her own fashion thing, so maybe we just record fun stuff that we do? With like, masks and stuff, probably!

[ Plus editing out any accidental appearances of anybody's unmasked face. Now that everybody is here, the idea of having her name out there isn't too intimidating anymore... but still, it's definitely more convenient, keeping a secret identity. ]

[ Fun stuff that they do? Well, that was probably easier said than done. Most of the stuff she did for fun wasn't necessarily something that would be interesting to watch. Running around the house for exercise wouldn't be super interesting and she wasn't really good enough at cooking to cook for a segment.]

Yeah, we'll figure out something. I guess worrying about it right now is silly. We did just get the house!

[ Yeah... Hibiki didn't really think it through. Still, they'll figure something out! With all five of them here, it shouldn't be too hard, right? They could probably piggyback off of Maria's online fashion stuff? Eh, thoughts for later. ]

Exactly! Also...

[ Despite Chris just telling them to be mindful of their surroundings, Hibiki squeezes Miku a little tighter. ]

We've been together for, like, forever now... but now we're moving into a whole house together!

[ In a flash of savviness that usually evades Hibiki, the romantic implications of that aren't lost on her. Even if they are also living with everybody else as well. ]

[Miku does let out a small giggle when she feels Hibiki's arms tighten around her, her face going quite a bit red at everything that Hibiki was saying. Which to be fair was... well, completely valid. They have definitely been together for a lot longer than they've known they were together. ]

Yeah. It's... honestly something I thought was going to take a lot longer to happen. [Like, full adult and having careers longer. Then again it could be argued that they already have their careers started, even if they had never arrived here and were only just back home.

Either way, not really all that relevant now. ]

[ Full adult careers, Hibiki on one knee holding up a ring to Miku, yknow... typical stuff. Rather than being suddenly badass singing warriors who deal with special threats... plus punching cars out of the air. ]

Well! Nothing wrong with getting a headstart, I think!

[ Technically she's not wrong? ]

Nope! Definitely not!

[She will lean in again to hug Hibiki a little tighter for a moment before pulling away, smiling as she looks over at her girlfriend. And then looks over the rest of the room that they were in. ]

Uh, I guess we should probably actually look around the rest of the house, shouldn't we?

[ They can't hug 24/7, after all. As much as Hibiki might enjoy that for a certain amount of time. ]

Oh! Right, of course! Come on, I'll show you where our room is!

[ ~~Congratulations, Chris. The lovebirds are finally at least moving to their room.~~ With that, Hibiki is quick to grab Miku by the hand and start ~~dragging~~ leading her around on a quick tour of the house. ]

Chris felt more at ease when Miku finally showed up; in truth, she was closer to Miku than anyone who wasn't Hibiki or Tsubasa, so having her here made her calm down from the full tilt anxiety that she'd been suffering from.

"Don't ask me," she said, shrugging. "Apparently our favorite idiot is exactly what the people around here want more of."

Miku nodded, walking closer to Chris after hearing that. Which, sure, didn't do anything to actually answer her question but at least made it clear that even for this alternate past version of Earth that this was still weird.

"Yeah. I guess. It's... well, it's so weird to think about. That Hibiki's a famous idol." Maybe it shouldn't have been considering Lydian, but it's not like people went to that school and then became idols all that oftne. (And Tsubasa didn't count, she was an idol before Lydian).

"I think it might even be weirder than the whole superheroes thing."

"I mean, weirdness like that was already part of our daily lives," Chris replied, with a shrug. "So I don't really blame you. She doesn't really seem like the celebrity type, does she?"

"Yeah, she really isn't," Miku answered. Honestly, if anything Hibiki was so earnest and much more likely to be a PR disaster considering she spoke without thinking at all. But honestly that (and you know, being a superhero) might have helped a lot with her popularity here.

"So, uh, has she managed to avoid any PR disasters with her idol career or does her PR agent have their work cut out for them?"

"As far as I can tell, Hibiki's been making news instead of being at the center of it," she said. "Which means she hasn't embarrassed either of us publicly in the entire time I've been here."

"Well that's good," Miku said, slightly shocked to be hearing that. Then again, if most of her public appearances outside of being an idol was due to her hero career, maybe it wouldn't matter.

Or maybe Hibiki just had much better control over herself when she knows she's on camera? Weirder things had happened to them. "Though I'm sure something will happen that'll be a PR nightmare sooner or later."

She loves Hibiki, but she knows her girlfriend.

What. In. The name. Of the heavens. Above?!

Even Tsubasa was stunned at the, to be frank, decadence of their new home, with more than enough space for all of them and the other two if they happened to show up as well. This had to be more expensive than putting them up in even a luxury hotel for months, didn't it? Could the promise of a 'content house' make up for the expenditure? Tsubasa had been exceedingly hands off with social media - now she had to dive in headfirst to justify this absurdity.

And it seemed to have ample garage space.

Diving into snacks would certainly wait while she marveled at American excess. "I am glad there's space enough for us." ...that's also true. "Standing out is now expected of us it seems."

Chris...couldn't help but smile as Tsubasa made her presence known. It instantly made her feel comfortable, like slipping back into an old, familiar role that she'd been away from since arriving here. As nervous as she was about Hibiki knowing about her crush on her senpai, Tsubasa was a balancing force for her that helped Chris feel at ease.

"Hey there, senpai," she said. "You uh, find the garage okay? That's your motorcycle I heard, right?"

Tsubasa could only imagine - it would've been strange and lonely with so few of them here. Now things were livelier.

And she was wholly unaware of Chris's crush.

"I have to finish getting my license here, but thankfully there's help streamlining that for us," she replied happily. "It's a very spacious garage so don't worry about me taking up the whole thing." Yet.

"Huh, I didn't think of you needing a license," Chris replied. "Though I guess that makes sense."

She laughed nervously. "Though yeah...'spacious' is an understatement. It's huge. Just like everything else here."

"A property of this size is usually already taken by very old families or for shrines, if they aren't being used for businesses." How much would a plot like this cost in Tokyo like wow. Big America. "I'm both excited and, admittedly, a bit intimidated by the wide-open spaces."

[ Hibiki... in all honesty... underestimated just how much she's established herself in this world. Even now, she still hasn't fully grasped it. That being said... it works perfectly for keeping everybody together!

Well, almost everyone, but still! She can't exactly complain! After all, the place was beautiful... way bigger than anywhere Hibiki's lived before, and you know for a fact that Hibiki was quick to get familiar with the entire place like the excitable puppy she is.

Which of course means that whoever is first to knock at the door is likely to be greeted by Hibiki, sprinting towards the door at full speed... resisting the urge to bark as she swings the door open. ]

Oh hey! You're here!!

[ Ignore the rapid wagging of her tail. ]

Is that surprising? I said I'd attend.

[ Given current circumstances, there were no benefits to turning down Tachibana Hibiki's invitation. Saint-Germain was not quite expecting her to live in quite such splendor, but even a cursory examination of the city revealed to her that the Symphogear wielder is not only gripping her own justice on the battlefield but also spreading it through her song. She supposes this much isn't outlandish.

Also, if it is of interest to Tachibana Hibiki, Saint-Germain has a gift bag in one hand.... ]

Ah, well, it's not surprising! I'm just still so happy to see you here!

[ Would it be any surprising to know that this level of splendor was at least 50% unintentional? Maybe more? Hibiki thinks the alliance is spoiling her, and maybe they actually are... but she also doesn't realize that there are so many people wearing her merch out in public.

Still, she does immediately notice the gift bag... and her tail, somehow, starts wagging faster. ]

Ahh! Is that a gift!? You didn't have to!

[ It is very clearly of interest to Tachibana Hibiki, though, because she is very clearly sniffing at the air trying to see if she can tell what's inside thanks to her lupine senses. ]

I'm your guest.

[ Guests bring gifts. Also, Hibiki may catch a whiff of.....starch? Something carby. Slightly cheesy, but like, fake cheese. There is FOOD in the gift. ]

Ah, you're not just a guest! You're a friend!

[ Though she's definitely not saying no to the gift, especially since she now knows it's food... even if she's got no clue what kind of food exactly. Which, now that she's thinking about it, she's started drooling a little... ]

[ A friend......

Different from a comrade. They aren't comrades; on that point Saint-Germain shall never budge. Tachibana Hibiki's ideals differ too strongly from hers. Yet, that is not the only relationship two human beings can possess.....They can also.....

....be..... ]

--Is that so.

[ expect the unexpected, she supposed. for the most part, she was expecting something more modest, more... lowkey. anything more extravagant would be a target on their backs. but this...? ]

Oh dear. [ she sighs. ] All this for a content house...?

[ she had a feeling it was part of hibiki's popularity that netted them this house, but she's totally not going to say anything. ]

Look, you're not gonna get any argument from me about this. But it's the card we've been dealt, you know?

[ Let's just hope Hibiki and Miku keep it to a single private room. ]

I suppose that must be the point. We have room to... 'get up to things' without tripping over one-another.

[ Still, impressive, and excessive in ways she's unused to. ]
