OPEN | Newbie Heroine's Introduction is an Alien Invasion?!
Who: Miku Kohinata
sunshinethatwarmsherup and others.
What: Getting used to Central City. Or at least, that was the plan. Then everything kinda go boom.
When: November 5th
Where: Central City
Content Warnings: N/A
[An shopping trip attempt was made - Open]
It had been a couple of days since Miku moved into Hibiki, Chris, and Maria's ridiculous giant mansion (which was something she was still having trouble with wrapping her head around), but it had become obvious pretty quickly that having five people living in the same house meant that shopping was very important. Especially when one of those five people was Hibiki, because it pretty much meant that you actually had to shop as if you were shopping for like, seven people.
So that was why she and Chris had headed to the grocery store. It had been something that she had been planning to do by herself considering that Chris did have idol work training to do and Miku was... well, just there. But again, needing to buy a ton of food.
Not that they had managed to get to the grocery store before a monster invasion happened. Which lead to what was happening now, with Miku flying low to the ground after having transformed using the Symphogear version of Shénshòujìng, which had been plan for her not really thinking of which version she was going to use. Because this one had a visor that she could close that while meant for aiming her various mirror lasers meant that she could keep her face hidden because she hadn't gotten a mask yet.
Also, she had a fan she could use to smack any monstrosities that got close to her and wasn't trying to maneuver in something that was built like a wedding dress. So there was that.
Of course, Miku wasn't all that trained in actually fighting, so she wasn't doing super well. The various lasers that she was shooting weren't hitting their mark all that often. Which means that eventually she soon ends up with one of the monsters jumping in front of her and swiping at her with claws.
She screamed, though nothing with words since, well, monster. And quickly swung at the creature with her closed armed gear fan. It wasn't a planned reaction, because it's not like whacking a monster with a fan was really going to do muc-
Said creature went flying across the street and into a building. Not just into the building, but through the building.
Miku stared at the hole in the wall for a few moments, not quite sure with what she was seeing. "How... how did I do that?"
[This is not how Mind Control Usually Goes - Open]
When the invasion first started, Miku hadn't been expecting to see civilians getting captured and having weird helmets placed on their heads. She had been expecting more death and destruction. Not that the helmets were good because it very quickly became obvious that the people with them on were under some sort of mind control.
You know, with the trying to attack her and other people and everything like that. And despite everything with her trying to duck and weave through all of the civilians trying to attack her without attacking back with anything besides the Symphogear's whips, she couldn't help but find it weird to not be the one under mind control or possession or whatever for once.
Not that it meant much considering she still had to deal with mind controlled people when she had random super strength that didn't want to turn on in any way she could figure things out. So that was... not great.
When one person managed to get close enough to her to almost grab her Miku jumped back, making her whips swing out to wrap around the mind-controlled girl's arms to keep her in place as she frantically looked around until her eyes came upon someone else around her who looked like a hero and who wasn't wearing a mind-control helmet.
"Get the helmet off of her quickly!"

[ shopping trip ]
She took it out on things that deserved it.
With a loud yell, she opened fire with her gatling guns, taking out foes with a storm of bullets. But there was just no end of them, no reprieve, but she had to protect Miku! Hibiki would kill her if she didn't!
...Except, then, Miku quite literally punched an enemy through a building. ]
Holy shit! Is that another track team thing?!
no subject
[Then again, the thing that Chris was referencing looking back on it was also not really all that normal but now's not the time to think about random ridiculous feats of super strength. These monsters were everywhere.
Like, another one right in front of her. But now that she knew that she could do that, things were going to go so much easier and she went and smacked it in the side of the head with her armed gear.
It staggered a little, but that was it. And then it swiped at her and Miku was very, very quickly flying back to not get swiped by zombie monster claws. ]
So, uh... that didn't work this time?
[She might want to stick to lasers for now. At least she knew how those worked. ]
no subject
I've heard powers can be kind of inconsistent, here. Are you okay, though?!
no subject
Yeah. I'm okay. But that's... [Honestly, yelling about how the powers she was getting here was a bit bullshit wasn't really going to help much. So let's not do that, and focus on the rest of the monsters around them. ]
Guess I'm going to be sticking to just range for now. Can't rely on unreliable stuff...
[Hopefully she won't have to switch to using the Faust Robe because on Confluence stuff, but at least her gear seemed to still be working for now. ]
not how it goes
On it!
[ maria doesn't waste much time after that, rushing over and pulling the helmet off without much fanfare. she lets out a sigh of relief as the girl slowly comes back to her senses. maria's already tired of hurting other people-- she wished she didn't have to, but this was necessary... but the way miku held her down gave her ideas. but first... ]
Are you alright?
no subject
Granted, she was with the Alliance now but she was stupidly new so... yeah. Either way, the rescued civilian nods and runs off, and Miku lets out a sigh of relief.]
Thank you. I... wasn't sure how I was going to deal with that if I was by myself. I... well, I have random super strength now.
attempts continue to be made
As long as she can hear the Symphogear's song, how bad could things get?
And as she predicted, the wielder of Shenshoujing appeared to be in trouble for a second, but it was handled. Totally under control. ]
You're not going to get far as a hero and as a Symphogear if you're going to freak out over one building.
[ Carol is sitting on a nearby rooftop, finally speaking up and giving her commentary.
She has, after all, seen them shatter mountains. Poor K2. ]
no subject
She is... well, still a bit shocked to see the other girl considering the past but then again last time Carol was around she was on their side and even if she hadn't been, more problems.
At least Carol was on a relatively short building's roof.]
I'm more concerned about accidentally hurting people more than I mean too than the building. [She pauses as another monster comes up near her and she fires a blast from her closed fan, staggering it backwards. ]
...Which yes, not relevant right now but I didn't mean to hit the last one that hard!
no subject
It's good to be careful, but almost everyone has evacuated. You should worry about yourself first.
[ Self-preservation. Also not traditionally high on Carol's list of concerns, but she's trying something new now. ]
More importantly, the Symphogear runs on the wielder's imagination and willpower. It shouldn't do anything you don't want it to. If it's acting up, you should get it checked out.
[ She says, like there's anyone on this planet capable of maintaining the Symphogears... Except for Carol herself. ]
no subject
And speaking of monsters, three of them were now lunging right at her, so Miku did the sensible thing and flew up into the air to get out of reach of the zombie-like things swipes. And also shot more laser blasts at them. Not that the blasts seemed to be doing much more than any other attack would've done.
Though it was still useful, so when the blasts did little more than stagger the things Miku definitely went and shot them again. ]
...Anyway, do you need help getting out of here? [She'll just ignore the whole thing about having someone look at her gear right now, since, well, the only one who could do that was Carol and they might be on the same side now but no. ]
no subject
No, that will not be necessary. I have just been studying these creatures, and there's only so much you can glean from a corpse.
[ Miku might be stronger than she thought, but Carol is exactly as strong as everyone remembers. ]
no subject
Okay, yeah, that makes sense. You'd be better for figuring out stuff like that than me or Hibiki. I just... hadn't seen you do anything yet so I didn't know if something happened when you came here.
[Like say, losing her alchemy abilities or something. If she could get super strength who knows what else could happen? ]
so many attempts
It helped spur her into moving faster when she realized that the invasion was where Miku was going to be, so she manages to arrive pretty quickly... just in time to spot Miku and watch as she smacks a monster with her Armed Gear... and send it way further than anybody expected. ]
Miku—EHHHH!?
[ Speaking as someone who has personally taken actual attacks from Miku's Symphogear, including her Armed Gear... she definitely doesn't remember Miku's attacks having that much physical force behind it. Sure, that doesn't mean there isn't some power behind it. Hibiki remembers it distinctly, and it had sent her flying with enough force to cause a considerable dent in ship armor... but through a whole building?
Does... does Miku have super-strength here!? ]
M-Miku!!
[ Another monster is quickly approaching Miku until Hibiki drops down from the sky, bringing her heel down in a devestating axe-kick, followed by the pistons in her leg firing and finishing the job. Dealing with monsters like this is much more Hibiki's speed, after all.
But putting aside the instant destruction caused to the semi-monstrous, semi-robotic creature, Hibiki immediately rushes over to Miku. ]
Miku!! Are you okay!? Are you hurt!? What the heck was that!? That was so cool!!
no subject
Even if she had ridiculous super-strength now apparently? Which was not a thing she was sure about but, well... questions for later. ]
Yeah. I'm okay. Not... sure what just happened there though. Wasn't trying to knock it that far...
[ Also, she's well aware that Hibiki just blurted her name in public but whatever, it's fine. Her face is concealed due to the visor. Though...]
...Guess I'm going to have to decide on my hero name sooner than I thought, aren't I?
no subject
[ Crap! She just realized that she blurted it out loud! Well, it's fine, there's a lot of noise around what with the alien invasion, along with people trying to get away from here rather than closer. It should be fine...? But Hibiki slaps her hands over her mouth anyway. ]
Sorry! I'm just used to not really worrying about it, and you don't have one yet, so...
[ Ah, wait, but more importantly! Miku did just assure her that she's fine, but Hibiki is quick to make sure, hands clasping Miku's shoulders as she gives her girlfriend a quick once-over just to be sure. ]
Whoa... I guess you were part of the track team before...
no subject
Pretty sure being part of the track and field club has nothing to do with being able to fight, Hi-uh, Gungnir. [Yeah, this super hero thing was going to take a lot longer to get used to than she thought. ]
Anyway, I think we should focus more on the... everything else than each other right now. [There's another pause as she looks over at some more of the creatures coming towards them. They were still pretty far away but they still needed to be dealt with.
And of course, there was the whole name thing to go with... ]
...Also, I guess I might as well just follow everyone else's lead. If anyone asks who I am, tell them my hero name is Shénshòujìng.
no subject
Oh! Right! We'll have to uh, figure out your new powers later, then!
[ The important thing is that Miku is safe... and probably way stronger, now. ]
Got it! Shenshoujing! I can remember that! Follow my lead, Mi—ah, Shenshoujing!
[ Time to save the day! And see if she and Miku can be just as in-sync during actual battle as they are in training! ]
no subject
Right Hi- [God damn it she almost slipped up again. ] Err, Gungnir. [ Well, hopefully no one will catch her if she slips up again with more than that first syllable. This is her first real battle, after all, so she can't be distracted.]
Has anyone mentioned what we have to do to stop these things? Or are we just fighting until they stop on their own?
