[OPEN] Out and About
Who: Jason Todd
robintohood and you!
What: A working night for the Red Hood and his gang, the Backbreakers. There are probably some... objections to their work
When: November 20th to 23rd
Where: Central City
Content Warnings: PG-13 level violence and mention of drug use. Will update as threads develop.
[If one has been paying attention to Central City's crime rate for the last couple of months or so, one might notice it's been a little more... contained? Seems like some people have taken upon themselves to clean up the streets]
Wild Ride:
[Gunfire is still part of Central City's evening soundscape, even as the weather gets colder.
Tonight's soundscape also contains the sounds of a black car chasing after three motorcycles, with the lead motorcyclist being a man wearing a red helmet. Two men in the car are firing their guns at the motorcyclists. The motorcyclists fire back but are more focused at escaping.
This might be a problem.]
Take Out:
[If you're near one of Central City's many shady bars tonight, you might witness the Red Hood violently dragging out a terrified man with a bruised face. The Red Hood then drops him to the curb. Before the man can protest or beg, the Red Hood pistol-whips him]
You know the rules.
[His voice is cold as he glares]
Wildcard (Can be a prompt for Jason or Red Hood!):
((OOC: Detailed post about Jason's gang here. I'm always open to new CR! Have questions or concerns? Go for it! My contact information is on this journal's profile page. I'm also in the game's discord server and I have a feedback post.))

Take Out
Oh, do remind him.
[Sleeper is much larger than their usual housecat today, instead going for something more like a tiger, and definitely large enough to catch the morsel Hood is after if he tries to run.]
no subject
The Red Hood pistol-whips him again to gets his attention.
"N-No s-s-shakedowns w-w-without y-y-your okay," the man manages to stutter out before the Red Hood pistols-whips him once again and steps on his hand with his boot.
The man yells out in pain while the Red Hood clicks his tongue and looks at Sleeper]
Disrespectful, isn't it? Especially when we might not like who's being shaken down. Could be just a little mom-and-pop shop just trying to get by for all we know.
no subject
If you drive them out of business asking for protection money, where does the next pay-off come from, hmm?
[Seriously, the brains on this guy. Must be deficient.]
I guess you must have inherited this one, right, boss?
no subject
Apparently. Now do we wanna do this quick? You're hungry?
[Jason then looks back down at the man, now struggling to frantically shake his head]
no subject
I'm sure I could manage. He isn't thatbig.
[They're not really going to eat the guy unless it's really needed. He smells pretty ripe and hardly worth the trouble.]
But if I eat him, what will you use to convince the other idiots not to try the same thing?
no subject
Well, all we need is the head. Dealing with a whole body is just more work.
[It's a reply that comes out way with disturbing ease and now the mook is frantically shaking his head]
no subject
[Anyone who knows a symbiote knows they like brains, but this is mostly for show.]
At least let me have the tongue. You don't really need it.
no subject
Yeah. We'll get a little more peace and quiet too.
[It's when Jason audibly unsheathes his combat knife that the mook finds his voice again by frantically yelling out, "I won't do it again! I'll move out! I'll hand over the shakedown money! All of it! I promise! I'll get out!"]
Hmm... Sounds generous.
no subject
[Their tail lashes with feigned irritation, and they lift a paw that is currently the size of a dinner plate to wash their face in preparation.]
Maybe you should remind him of all the rules, first. And the penalties for not listening.
no subject
[Jason pressed his boot harder onto the screaming mook's hand]
When it comes to shakedowns, we don't target churches, shelters, charities, or small businesses owned and run by elderly people or young families. Break those rules and not only do you lose the cash--
[Jason then stomps on the man's back, grabs hold of one of his arms and yanks it hard to dislocate it. The mook screams louder in pain before Jason continues with an angry growl]
We break you in whatever way we feel like.
[Now crying in more pain, the mook frantically nods his head and blubbers he promises to not to be out of line again]
no subject
[This time Sleeper does lick a line along the mook's face, doing their best not to be visibly disgusted by the taste of sour sweat, blood, and road dirt.]
Boss is pretty good about keeping me well-supplied with food, but I always have room for a little extra. So play by the rules, snack-size.
no subject
Jason finally let goes of the mook. Face bruised and bleeding, one arm dislocated, and one hand crushed, the man scrambles to stand back up and runs for his life.
Watching him flee, Jason chuckles]
It never gets old.
no subject
[But as the poor guy runs, Sleeper moves back into the shadows and into a more manageable size and shape.]
Hopefully I won't actually have to eat him. Do you have any idea how disgusting that was?
no subject
I got some idea. Looks like he might've seasoned too heavily on fear sweat. And hey, no one told you actually had to lick him.
no subject
[With a shoulder and hand out of commission, it seemed like a good idea to trigger a mild allergic dermatitis. Nothing too serious, but the guy really should wash more. And having a hard time scratching was just going to make certain lesson sunk in.]
People don't always believe you'll eat them without a little drool. Seemed wise to make certain.
no subject
[Jason can't help but smirk under his helmet]
Or a lick in this case. Been a little while since I had to remind someone of the shakedown rules.
no subject
[But they respect Jason for his lines. Trying to keep the damage to a minimum.]
Got any other jobs to do tonight?
no subject
[Jason takes out his grappling gun]
no subject
Sounds like a wonderful end to another book club meeting. Maybe we should pick up some takeout, too.
no subject
[Once Sleeper's secure, Jason fires the grappling gun and goes straight up to a rooftop to begin his last sweep of the neighborhood]
Any preferences?
no subject
[And not just because they serve the kind of heads that it's okay for people to eat. The rest of the menu is good, too.]
Or there's the curry shop on 13th.
no subject
[Jason does want Sleeper to enjoy some heads. He parkours and swings his way to the next couple of buildings over to look over another part of the neighborhood]
How's your brother doing with school now?
no subject
He hasn't blamed me for eating his homework, at least. Getting it done in a reasonable and timely fashion is definitely not one of his strengths. But he likes the school itself, at least.
no subject

[Sleeper is pretty sure there's been some altercations, but they can't be absolutely certain. And Dylan really wouldn't mention that kind of thing if he thought he had it handled. As long as it didn't come home, well, that wasn't something they could really affect.]
no subject
[Jason pauses when he spots a couple of men in a parked black car nearby. He takes a couple of steps further into the shadows to ensure they don't spot him]
Heh. Speaking of bullies, looks like the D'Amicos are lurking around again.
