[Somewhere in Central City is a small boy in a red, yellow, and green costume. It’s hard to forget someone in a colorful suit like that.

That is, assuming you can catch a good enough look at him. He’s effortlessly using his grappling gun and parkour skills to swing around and jump rooftops. You might see him as he tries to get a lay of the land.

Alternatively, you might see him fearlessly (or recklessly, depending on how you look at it) pounce right on top of a would-be armed mugger. He might not know where he is but that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop fighting crime. It’s what any good sidekick would do.]

Attic Safehouse above the Descendant Bar (Closed to people who use the safehouse)

[Later that night, Robin is exhausted but isn’t ready to trust just any place to rest for the night. For now, he’s just perched on top of the Descendant, near the attic window]

[Well, the woman doesn't seem alarmed at least. That might be a good sign. He's been running around all day and needs to get more intel before deciding on his next move. So he decides to take a risk and climbs down]

Long night, huh?

[Worst comes to worst, he can flee with his grappling gun]

Robin. [She chokes a little. Almost crying.]

Did- did you just arrive? In this city?

[In a confident and seemingly calm voice]

Been here for a bit. What's up?

[It doesn't escape him that Dana seems to be in near tears. Perhaps she needs help? He hopes he can help somehow]

[She wipes her eyes.]

S-sorry. It's just- I never expected to see a child Robin. I'm from Gotham, but- a lot later than all of you.

Have- are any of the other heroes here with you?

[Jason frowns. That was not a response he expected at all]

Other heroes like who? And what do you mean "a lot later?"

Batman and Batgirl. Or other sidekicks to Batman. My- version of Gotham only had those three and Nightwing, but I've heard of more here.

I'm- from a Gotham that hadn't had any heroes for decades. You guys were all long gone legends.

[robintohood]

[Jason's still frowning. He knows he went to sleep in Wayne Manor and then woke up in a strange city. He has no idea how he was moved. Magic? Was he drugged?]

So this is the future?

Actually, this is a completely different universe that grabs people from all places and times.

I guess you didn't get the guild introduction. Were there a lot of other people when you first found yourself here?

News to me, miss. Who else is here?

Um... Batman, Robin, Red Hood, two Batgirls- though I think Robin might have- left. There was also the Batman of my time here, but he's been gone for a while.

This place is used to new arrivals coming all at once, and they usually have a welcoming committee with explanations and an unlimited cred card and everything.

[robintohood]

[That doesn't alleviate all of Jason's concerns but at least Batman's around. He just has to find him]

Red Hood? He's a bad guy. You gotta be careful.

[She draws in a breath]

He... has his disagreements with the others, and he's harsher than them, but he's not a bad guy. The others will still work with him more often than not, and he looks out for people like they do.

Anyway, if you want to find them, you've come to the right place. Most of them work here.

[Jason just frowns more]

The Red Hood doesn't work anyone. He's a bad guy. It used to be the name of a really bad guy.

The one here might be a different Red Hood. Trying to rehabilitate the name.

I guess...?

[Jason sounds unsure though. Who would want to take the Joker's previous moniker?]

But anyway, Batman's here so it'll be fine.

Batman isn't around much, though. I only know he's here because others have said he is, I haven't seen any evidence of his work. I'm not even sure how to find him.

[robintohood]

[In an unconcerned tone]

He'll be seen when he wants to be seen. That's just how he works. It won't take long now because I'm here too.

I hope so. Try not to get into too much trouble before he finds you, okay?

Always! How long you've been here anyway?

[qualityfriend]

About half a year.

Listen, you might meet heroes who are from this world, and they'll want you to join a guild. I wouldn't do it. They're not like the Justice League. They care more about appearances than actually helping people, and they coerce anyone who could be called a hero into joining them so they can control them.

[robintohood]

[Jason nods as he listens. Dana could be lying but some people having a particular level of distrust towards the guilds here is still worth noting]

What are the guilds?

[qualityfriend]

They're like the Justice League- teams of heroes. Or people who would be criminals if they didn't follow rules, in the case of the Society. They take care of those of us who end up here suddenly- but only for a few months, and then then expect you to join. If you don't, you're cut off. And they don't really care who joins, as long as they join.

[robintohood]

There aren't other heroic guilds? It's just the Alliance?

[It's an odd notion considering the existence of other heroic teams back home like the Titans and the Outsiders]

[qualityfriend]

I don't think so. Some of the other outsiders have talked about setting up unofficial groups, but I don't think they went anywhere, and they would've always been unofficial. The authorities don't like like us not being under their thumb.

Or those teams might be very secretive since they're technically illegal.
