[Somewhere in Central City is a small boy in a red, yellow, and green costume. It’s hard to forget someone in a colorful suit like that.

That is, assuming you can catch a good enough look at him. He’s effortlessly using his grappling gun and parkour skills to swing around and jump rooftops. You might see him as he tries to get a lay of the land.

Alternatively, you might see him fearlessly (or recklessly, depending on how you look at it) pounce right on top of a would-be armed mugger. He might not know where he is but that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop fighting crime. It’s what any good sidekick would do.]

Attic Safehouse above the Descendant Bar (Closed to people who use the safehouse)

[Later that night, Robin is exhausted but isn’t ready to trust just any place to rest for the night. For now, he’s just perched on top of the Descendant, near the attic window]

[The grin he’s now sporting suggests it isn’t.]

[Jason giggles, knowing the giant turtle isn't being serious]

Yeah, sure. And I'm a bird. And since when do turtles need katanas?

[He comes all the way out now, leaning against the A/C unit he was hiding behind.]

Hey, you never know when an alligator might be around.

[It's a good thing one isn't, though, because at this age Leo would be more likely to cut off his own hand than actually fight anyone.]

Hey, so, weird question: do you know where we are right now?

Central City, Michigan.

[Jason was able to gather that much at least]

When you get here?

[Michigan!? How the heck did he get all the way to Michigan?

It takes Leo a second to stop looking shocked and get back to talking.]

A few hours ago? I woke up in a hotel room.

[Jason frowns as he thinks. That's weird]

What'd you remember before that?

Uh... I played basketball yesterday... and we had pizza for dinner... and then I went to bed.

[Nothing in there that indicates he would get kidnapped to Michigan. Leo at this age doesn't even remember being able to teleport.]

I'm from New York. Not Michigan.

Weeeeird.

[What Leo is saying wouldn't explain how any of them wound up here]

Are there more turtles like you?

[Jason did note the use of 'we']

[Ah, whoops. Was he supposed to tip that off?

Oh well, it's too late now.]

Yeah. I have brothers... Ah man, what if they're somewhere here too?

[He was operating under the assumption that only he got mysteriously relocated, but what if they all did? Eugh boy.]

Maybe, especially if you don't live alone. Maybe they're somewhere else here.

[It's the logic Jason's using to search for Batman]

I hope they're together... my older brother doesn't do so well when he's left alone.

[If they hear roars and screaming, he's probably around.]

Hey, are you from here? I have no idea where to even start looking.

Well, I'm still surveying the area.

[Jason's unsure how much he should let on about how little he knows this area. He doesn't know how hostile this city might be to kid sidekicks]

Oh, yeah, gotcha. Surveying the area, super smart. I guess I should do that too.

[And on that note...]

Why don't we survey together? [Two heads are better than one, right?]

Yeah, sure.

[Better to keep an eye on Leo if he turns out to be a bad guy. If he's not one, then it's one more ally Jason could use while he's stuck here]

You ever do this kind of work before?

No, but I'm super good at scouting for new pizza places and cool grind rails so it's probably about the same, right?

[Totally confident for no reason! Or at least that's how he acts.]

Don't worry, I can move pretty fast. Despite the shell.

Ha! I'd love to see you try! Maybe all that pizza slows you down too.

[Is it a challenge? Maybe. This counts as a way to assess someone, right?]

Pizza could never slow me down, it only fuels me. Bring it!

[He's all fired up!]

[Jason gestures at one of the taller buildings that's several blocks away]

First one to make it over there!

[And just like that, Jason fires his grappling gun at the next rooftop to start racing Leo]

[Hey, grappling guns are cheating!

Rather than complain about it, though, Leo takes off himself, running to clear the gap between rooftops. He'll probably have to split off from Jason so he can get to the other building using gaps he can clear, while also finding progressively higher rooftops.

He is pretty fast though, all things considered. He's had a lot of practice rooftop racing.]

[Jason's laughing happily as he uses his acrobatic skills and his grappling gun to make his way up to gradually taller buildings. He occasionally sees flashes of Leo besides him and is genuinely impressed that he can keep up so far]

[He's giving it all he's got, but without his portals and with Jason's grappling gun he will probably get beat. That doesn't mean he won't dash with all he has for the finish...!]

[And Jason wins! But not by a lot. Jason's smaller frame gave him some disadvantages and he hasn't been Robin for long so far.

He rolls onto the rooftop and then springs right back up as Leo arrives]

That was fun! You always had moves like that or you got trained for it?

Nooo!

[Dang, he lost! Leo looks annoyed by losing, but he still had fun doing it so he can't be mad. He gets over it fast enough.]

My dad taught me some stuff. [Read, very little.] But I got good playing rooftop tag with my brothers.

What about you? Where'd you learn to do that!?

Trade secret! Can't share that info with you, you know. That's so cool you can play rooftop tag with your brothers though.

[He wishes Dick was around more so they could do that]

Yeah, they're alright sometimes.

[He should really find them, though...]
