[Somewhere in Central City is a small boy in a red, yellow, and green costume. It’s hard to forget someone in a colorful suit like that.

That is, assuming you can catch a good enough look at him. He’s effortlessly using his grappling gun and parkour skills to swing around and jump rooftops. You might see him as he tries to get a lay of the land.

Alternatively, you might see him fearlessly (or recklessly, depending on how you look at it) pounce right on top of a would-be armed mugger. He might not know where he is but that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop fighting crime. It’s what any good sidekick would do.]

Attic Safehouse above the Descendant Bar (Closed to people who use the safehouse)

[Later that night, Robin is exhausted but isn’t ready to trust just any place to rest for the night. For now, he’s just perched on top of the Descendant, near the attic window]

"We get by as long as I make sure that his answers don't have to be too many words, but even with our connection it's not perfect," Sleeper admits. "It's more that I get some additional context you humans aren't aware of. Like being fairly sure of the emotions behind things."

They ruffle his hair again, giving the impression of a smile despite their lack of an obvious mouth right now.

"At least Venom seems unaffected. But I really want to yell at Eddie some more for being so insensitive."

"So you'll be the interpreter for answers other than yes or no?" She smiles at both of them.

"You're lucky to have a flexible sibling to grab at. A human would probably be yelling in pain."

Dylan's baby muscles can't seem to manage the nuance of a shrug at the moment so he just raises his arms above his head. ]

"I don't think he agrees with you," Sleeper says, trying not to chuckle at Dylan's antics.

"Just trying to find the bright side for you guys." She gives an exaggerated shrug, to compensate for baby Dylan's inability to do one properly.

"Anyway. I know it's not the best place for a baby, but you can stay here as long as you need. Enough others are missing that I've decided to close the bar until this whole thing has passed. I- don't think there are any beds, but some of the furniture in the specialty rooms is soft enough, or I could buy sleeping gear..."

"We've got it covered for now. And Venom is supposed to be coming as soon as he can wrangle Eddie."

Which may be a while since the guy is apparently a teenager, and not the fun kind like Dylan usually is.

Dana frowns. "Are you sure you trust him to look after Dylan? And not upset him more?"

[ Little Dylan looks a little dejected at the reminder of how far removed from "dad" his dad has become. Maybe it will upset him more, but he still misses him. And if nothing else, the Venom Symbiote is still itself.

"That's right, Dads are coming. Venom will help keep Eddie in line if he doesn't do good by the kid," Sleeper says, although they clearly have some doubts as to how well that would work.

"I think we'll both feel better at home."

"That's true," she admits, but doesn't look entirely happy.

"Well, if he seems like he'll blow you off at all, tell him- tell him that you and Venom will take turns eating him if anything happens to Dylan."

"I figured I'll let Venom keep him alive and suffering while we show him his entrails..." they say, and it's hard to say if they're joking or not.
