From my experience, with all of the different non-human species I've known, it's been needed. Sure, some of them don't eat food, but even machine life-forms have to maintain themselves. Maybe you have different standards of need than a full-blooded human, but I expect you still have those needs.

[He tilts his head briefly, considering the man.]

And if you want to test whether or not that's true, it's better to have someone there to help you if prove mortal indeed and your body gives out enough to need help.

[Yeah, definitely going to have to prod Loki to help the guy.]

Never once, in all the time I've seen you since you arrived on this Earth, have I seen your hair as anything less than perfect, Sephiroth. Until today.

[The man clearly takes very good care of his hair, and so it's rather obvious that it's not in the perfect state.]

And there might be bags starting to develop under your eyes, but I can't quite tell. Very early stages.

[Sephiroth runs a hand through his bangs, pushing them back out of his face.]

Perhaps I am... pushing myself.

It's not bad, to push yourself sometime. But when you do it constantly it's bad for you.

No, but a lot of people find something like that to be soothing and can help people rest.

[Sephiroth shakes his head. He's not adding another thing to his list.]

It sounds like an unnecessary step.

It would help your hair look lovely in case Loki comes to visit.

[As if he doesn't know how to take care of his hair? Or that Loki coming to visit is in question?]

[David offered a shrug at that. He might be trying to get Loki to come over soon to help Sephiroth take care of himself. If he expects there is one thing Lokis know how to do, it's how to take care of their bodies while spiraling mentally.]
