[Closed] Rooftops are where all the cool kids meet
Who: Donnie
purplexing and Accelerator
levelshift
What: Some dorks learn Donnie has a new power in the worst way possible.
When: Early-mid April
Where: The roof of the Diadem hotel.
Content Warnings: Talk of traumatic brain injuries, maybe some other medical stuff. Will update as needed.
[It's been a bit since Accelerator has gotten back from Excelsior. That trip had turned out to be a dead end regarding his original reasons for travel, but it hadn't been a total waste of time. Running into a second mutant turtle had been, at the very least, an interesting experience, especially when having a normal conversation with a peer that's even close to being on his level is so totally unheard of.
He isn't sure if that means he's still going soft, which is a little unnerving. Being in an entirely new universe means he needs to keep his guard up, not turn into Yoshikawa... but on the other hand, he did learn some new and interesting things. And she, Yomikawa and Last Order would be fucking thrilled if they knew he could manage being sociable in a somewhat normal context (outside of the whole sentient meat thing).
He'll need to mull this over later, when he's feeling less tired.
At any rate, there's the matter of the teleportation amulet device. Donnie has it, and he needs to return it to the Alliance before they start asking questions. The two of them have agreed to meet on the roof of the Diadem hotel, which Accelerator is perfectly fine with. It, unlike the lobby, is completely empty, and it offers a better view than having to wait around in some dark, dank back alley. It wasn't as easy to get up here as it should have been thanks to the underpowered garbage that is the supercomputer connected to his brain, but he's choosing to ignore that for the moment. Honestly, it isn't so bad, and he makes a mental note to come up here when his hotel room feels too claustrophobic.
... And to drink coffee, which he is currently doing. He's sitting against one of those big curved air intake vents, his crutch on the ground next to him, sipping from a can of coffee (some skull and bones brand, the same one he's been obsessively drinking since he got here). It's nice, the quiet and the breeze are nice. If there were a couple of slowly rotating wind turbines within view he could almost be tricked into thinking this was some roof in Academy City.]

Pretty sure a majority's just glad they don't have to deal with us directly like that. Making sure someone has the funding is probably the easy route.
[He blinks, taking a moment before he realizes what Accelerator's talking about.]
Pff, can I do any hacking. Back home I had access to every police and security feed in the city. [A pause, and then a slow, smug look spreading across his face.] Did he? Well I mean he's not wrong.
no subject
Accelerator notes that smugness and remembers very vividly what Leo had also said: that he's a genius, and for the love of god don't tell him he said that (paraphrased). For a second he wonders what would happen if he did mention that, but it would probably be more trouble than it's worth, and he did agree to keep that part quiet.
Plus, his head is already buzzing with some Holy shit, having access police and security feed in Central would be so useful thoughts. The possibilities there seem more than a little nuts. While he's keeping his surprise measured, he does look mildly impressed.]
Could you do that here? Hack into security feeds, I mean. Shit, I was only thinking about it in terms of digging up dirt on Fantastic like Leonardo had said and you were interested. Who knows what shady crap's been recorded on security feeds in this city.
no subject
[Which is going to take time, and while he's willing to undertake the challenge, he knows he can't slap something together right away, not without the right parts and equipment.]
Looking into Fantastic the old-fashioned way is definitely going to be quicker. I can poke around too, see if I can dig up anything.
no subject
Alright, that makes sense. I don't care about following either of your leads on that.
[Since they seem more experienced in digging up dirt on the internet. It's a little weird actually working with other people, but thankfully he isn't opposed to it or anything. It's just new and requires a level of socialization he isn't used to.
Fun fun.
He sighs, pausing for a second before adding:]
... If you want help [want, because it's clear Donnie doesn't need it] with the rest of that crap, I wouldn't be totally useless.
no subject
He blinks.]
Huh? Oh... [He looks a little surprised to be offered help because sure, he might not need it, but then he rarely gets offered it. His brothers do not share the same interest in engineering and science as he does, after all. For a moment he's not sure what to do with this offer.]
Well...if you know any good places to scavenge for parts or any come up on my end, we can hit them up some time. See what we can find?
no subject
That it doesn't is really stupid. And also fine. Totally fine. He rolls his right shoulder, like this is no big deal.]
I can look into it. [He has a few ideas, but he hasn't been here long enough to know exactly what kind of facilities Central City (or Excelsior) might have beyond a junk yard.] I'll let you know when I have something.
no subject
Okay then. I'll let you know likewise.
[Donnie waves it off, shoving himself to his feet, if teetering slightly. He sets his hands on his knees for a moment.]
no subject
Sounds fine.
[He does reach for his now-empty can of coffee though. Gotta mourn that properly.]
no subject
You uh, gonna be okay up here or...?
no subject
[He looks over, raising an eyebrow.]
Can you get down on your own?
[Lookin' a little wobbly there, friendo.]
no subject
Donnie snorts, waving a hand.]
I'll be fine, not like I have to walk.
[Because that's reassuring. The rotors of his battle shell unfold and power up, lifting the turtle off his wobbly feet.]
Catch you later, 'rator.
no subject
... That's what he'd be thinking if he wasn't busy looking incredibly irritated as Donnie heads off. Seriously, what is with these fucking turtles and nicknames??]
