[A lot has been happening this month and Jason wants some answers already.

Late last month after the Society locked down Central City, one of Jason's goons informed him of two people trying to break into the quarantine zone. The goon provided him a blurry smartphone picture as proof. Despite the poor image quality, one of the people having long white hair is distinct enough for Jason to feel confident he could eventually track them down.

Jason had also been keeping a tracker on Dana so they could know what's going on with her blackouts. After her meeting with a couple of people from WOM.bat, Jason thinks he's closer to some answers now. There's clearly been odd interferences when he tried to eavesdrop so perhaps he needs to take a bigger risk now. Unfortunately for him, trying to tail a trickster god might cause some issues.]

[ loki seems to hum softly, not looking back, not just yet before he speaks out loud. ]

The imaginary friend, I presume? Do stop lurking, it's embarrassing.

[Jason clicks his tongue before revealing himself from the closest rooftop. He skillfully climbs down with whatever holdings the building has]

Can't blame a guy for trying. Never know who you can trust these days.

[Sephiroth does turn to look at the stranger as he speaks.]

I suppose more and more are ruling themselves out.

[Is he including Jason in that? Not yet.]

Nothing establishes trust like spying.

But we're willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

[Jason holds up a copy of the blurry photo one of his goons gave him]

I get why anyone would try to break out of a quarantine zone but breaking in? that's a surprise.

[Sephiroth glances at the photo, unimpressed. People have taken much better paparazzi shots of him.]

We have business to conduct. The risk is inconsequential.

[ loki shrugs, though he does glance at the picture with bemusement. ]

Very few places in the universe have the power to keep me fenced in.

[Jason nods, unperturbed and not surprised. It would be a lot more shocking if something could trap Loki]

Naturally. Didn't report this to anyone in the Society and I told my goon that I'll take care of it.

I don't suppose this business has anything to do with a blowhard hero and a manipulative asshole?

That's generous, if true.

And yes, that is the general subject.

It is our business, at any rate. We're not here to interfere with yours.

I'm not concerned about that now.

[Especially since Dana came out of that conversation unharmed]

I wanted to see if we could compare notes. Call me curious. The girl you met wasn't the only brainwashed person I ran into.

[ loki glances at sephiroth curiously before turning his gaze back at jason. ]

The Red Death Trap I assume?

[Jason snorts in light amusement]

Now there's a name if I ever consider a change. Red Hood is fine. And yeah, I might be known to be paranoid sometimes.

Understandable, though I believe it's your turn to share something. I've been rather forthcoming already.

[ loki chuckles at that. ]

Got tracking data for the last month or so on one of the victims after she told me about her blackouts.

[He holds up a flash drive]

When I went to check out a location she couldn't account for, I found what looked like a supervillain suit. When I showed it to her, she had a mini-blackout. Like someone was suddenly using her like a puppet.

[Sephiroth glances at Loki.]

We were told about the stash. She did not mention that finding it triggered a reaction.

It's possible she may not have realized she had it.

[ or it slipped her mind. loki considers this. ]

Did she turn back into her "villain" self when confronted with the suit?

[robintohood]

Not exactly. First she acted like she got a headache and then suddenly denied ever seeing the suit before while claiming she was fine. Then she snapped out of it and forgot what we were talking about.

Hm. Clearly we weren't meant to be aware of our activities. I suppose it was a part of that.

[Sephiroth shouldn't have that reaction if they were to find his things, right? Loki's taken care of it.]

It's a mental trigger. To ensure the mind control remains intact.

Any ideas on how they're doing it? Is it through magic?

Some manner of hypnosis was involved.

[With the kinds of powers people have... he can't definitively classify that.]

It could be anything at this juncture. It doesn't matter if it is magic or powers. The root is not the issue, the perpetrator is.
