Fuck offffffffff.]
no subject
Heeey, you okay in there?
no subject
He still doesn't get out of bed, just curls up more.]
Fuck off. Whatever you want, I'm not in the mood.
no subject
Just wanted to check on you. You didn't answer my texts earlier.
no subject
I'm not answering my fucking phone today. That should have been obvious.
no subject
What is this sentence, how can you not answer your phone]...
I um. Brought coffee. And I can install the thing in your crutch if you want.
no subject
[Even though... his crutch is upright next to the nightstand like two feet away.]
no subject
If he hadn't been concerned before, Donnie might be feeling a little concerned now.]
You sure? If you're not going to use it now I can just do it today and go over things with you tomorrow, it'll save some time.
...what's wrong? [Maybe he should have led with that.]
no subject
..........
[He also doesn't answer for a good minute or two, debating what the chances are that Donnie will just leave if he stays silent. But Donnie is stubborn, and the silence just make things more annoying for him....
Guh, why can't he just skip today?]
... August 31st was the day I was shot in the head back home. Because of the temporal distortions going on it isn't a year anniversary or anything, but it's annoying nonetheless.
no subject
His brow furrows when Accelerator finally does speak up again, and he can't help but feel guilty, now knowing the reason.]
What a day to have to remember...
no subject
[Making it even worse is that this is also the day he first met Last Order, and she isn't here. She's back in Academy City, still apparently affected by that virus or Aiwass or whatever. Her life is still in danger, and he's stuck here, wallowing in his misery over a stupid day that shouldn't have this much control over him.]
I'm not doing anything today.
no subject
...
But if you don't mind, I'll hang around for a bit. Check on the plants and stuff. ...can I grab your crutch so I can work on it?
no subject
Whatever, as long as you don't expect me to move.
no subject
Yeah, no, you won't have to do a thing. Coming in to grab the thing.
...and if you need anything, just let me know, yeah?
no subject
Fine. [He won't. He's not used to doing that on a good day, let alone a day like today.]
It's all yours.
no subject
Donnie slips into the room at Accelerator's gesture, quick and quiet as possible. When he speaks up again, he's already back by the door.]
All right then.
[And he'll head over to the main room to start seeing to the plants. And at least someone should enjoy the coffees.]
no subject
He feels bad for doing so, like with Donnie here he should be making more of an effort or something. It reminds him of Yomikawa's stupid lecture, how she called him scared and a tyrant, and asked what would happen when Last Order's good will ran out. This isn't really that different. Knowing about the Sisters hadn't pushed Donnie (or Leo) away, but that doesn't mean it still couldn't happen in the future. Maybe it'll be less of one giant push (he's a serial murderer) and more of a slow wearing them down (them gradually realizing he's incapable of reciprocating anything good).
... Well, now that he's thinking about it, that seems like an inevitability. As stubborn as they are, everyone wears down eventually. Last Order probably will, too.
If she was she'd have already tried stealing his blankets, jumping on him, yammering her head off the entire time. If she was strong enough to flip the bed over she'd do it, and then immediately get bored and disappear out the door based off of stupid inane ten year old logic, and he'd have to go after her to make sure she didn't get kidnapped or hit by a car or something. Then after catching up with her she'd act like he was the sad lost child, and pat him on the head or something stupid. Just be a huge pain in the ass because she's incapable of being anything less.
....
Fucking hell, he wishes she was here. It's incredibly selfish, but he does.
He's going to lie there wallowing in his misery and missing Last Order for a while.]
no subject
You are not alone.
Karai had taught them this. Their dad taught them to be there for each other.
It's been far too easy to forget these things in a strange world apart from the people you know and care about, the company you took for granted as it seemed there would never be anything so great that it could keep you apart. Donnie's had to be constantly reminded of these things, the sayings and teachings that his family kept close, to keep being reminded. And in that emptiness that threatens to swallow him, those words keep him afloat.
He can't do anything to make Accelerator feel better, but he can at least keep him company, even if he's not in the same room. It's kind of like when he and Mikey end up hunkering down, waiting for arguments to pass. They can't do anything about it, but they can weather things together.
So Donnie waits. He keeps himself busy, he tends to his plants, finishes off both coffees, and works on that laser installation. He fiddles with his phone and his data collection.
And eventually he ends up napping at the end of the couch.]

It means he can hear Donnie puttering around. What a pain in the ass, surely he's got better things to be doing than stick around here. Who would want to be in the vicinity of such an awful person? Especially when he won't even get out of bed.
He grumbles under his breath and squeezes his eyes shut, trying to ignore the rising guilt that's coming with being such a shitty friend.
Unfortunately for him though, all of that means he can hear Donnie not leaving. He's expecting that after a while, and when he doesn't hear the telltale sounds of the turtle climbing out the window or saying he's off or whatever, he starts to get confused. Maybe a little concerned.
It takes him way too long, but he eventually drags himself out of bed to see what the hell is going on. Donnie has his crutch so he's mainly supporting himself by leaning on the walls as he makes his way out to the living room.]
......
[He sees Donnie napping on the couch.
Goddamnit.
It's a pain, but he'll go retrieve a blanket and drop it on Donnie before going back to bed.]
