Let's do the time warp again~
Who: Leonardo Hamato
faceguy and YOU
What: Leo has been aged up... into extra wrinkly adult Leo with added apocalypse vibes
When: Late July/early August
Where: Central City
Content Warnings: Potential for apocalypse talk, body horror, family death, dismemberment
[Master Leonardo, leader of the resistance, wakes up in a place he did not fall asleep - in the softest bed with the silkiest sheets he's felt in, well, ever. And he knows right away that some shenanigans are definitely occurring. This is not hisbeautiful house time, and this is not his beautiful wife body. He doesn't know everything, but enough foreign memories are there to explain that much.
Somehow he's ended up in the body of his younger self, somewhere that is not his own timeline. Weird, but then, his whole life has been weird from the beginning.
He's feeling pretty calm about it, all things considered. While he may not know exactly what's going on, he knows that this is a place his younger self found safe, and he feels like this situation will resolve itself sooner or later. He'll ask Mikey for theories once he's back, assuming he remembers it.
For now, well... might as well take advantage of a world that isn't on its last leg.]
A: Hot Bean Juice - 33-year-old Leo (Open to anyone with access to Dylan Brock's penthouse)
Does this apartment belong to a movie star or something? Swank-kaaay.
[Leo can't help but stare around in awe as he moves through the penthouse - even pre-apocalypse, he'd never been in a place so nice, outside Big Mama's hotel. Hopefully no one thinks he's an intruder; maybe he should come up with a better cover story than, "Don't worry, I'm just temporarily possessing my teen self's body."
Leo at this age is considerably taller than his younger self, just over six feet. He's broad and muscular, and one arm is missing, though luckily for him his big, bulky robot arm came with him. He carries one sword instead of two, a bright red mask wound tight around the hilt. He's got a good number of scars and a good number of wrinkles, but his smile is easy and relaxed as he moves around.
He heads for the kitchen (once he finds it), and quickly finds exactly what he was hoping for.]
Oh, thank you, Pizza Supreme in the Sky.
[It takes him a moment to figure out the coffee maker, but soon enough he has a mug full of steaming hot coffee, inhaling the scent so hard he nearly snorts it all up his nose.]
I've missed this so much.
[He hopes he remembers this; he wants to lord it over Donnie later.]
B: Bless the Rains Down in Michigan - 33-year-old Leo (OTA)
[Realizing his younger self has been living in Michigan, of all places, had been a bit of a shock, but Leo is nothing if not adaptable. He's figured out how to get around this place quickly enough, utilizing his ninja skills, and has taken some time to explore.
Rain moved in about an hour ago and hasn't let up, and Leo is delighted. No one appreciates how nice it is to just sit and let the rain hit your face until the water dries up and is replaced with acid.
Leo's sitting up on a rooftop currently, his feet dangling over the edge, his face just... turned up toward the sky, letting the rain hit it. His mask and scarf and pants are soaked through, but his eyes are closed and his smile is content.
He's remarkably good at noticing when someone is approaching him, no matter how much or how little noise they're making. He doesn't even look, he just speaks.]
You ever think about how great rain is?
C: And I Feel Fine - 40-year-old Leo (OTA)
C1
[Another slip, another distortion, and an older Leo is here again. From even further into the apocalypse now, his face looks even more haggard, his clothes even more dirty and torn, new scars and new furrows covering his skin and shell. Two masks decorate his sword's hilt now, purple and red intertwined.
He's pretty sure he's dead, or will be soon. His time is over, his world is lost. But he sent Casey back, and he has all the faith in the world that Casey will accomplish the task Leo gave him.
Casey is their hope, after all. And hope is a ninja's greatest weapon.
His family is gone, and it stings, but there's a peace Leo feels, too. He'll be back with them again soon - Dad, Raph, and Donnie, who he's missed for so long, April and Mikey, the fresh and still stinging wounds. But first, seems like his soul is taking another detour.
The lights and crowds of Central City are... a lot for someone who's grown so accustomed to the ruins of civilization, and Leo finds himself getting away from it, eventually stopping in a scraggly, rundown park that it doesn't look like many people like to enter. Not that Leo is too worried about anyone attacking him, and he has enough of his younger self's understanding of the world to know he isn't putting him in any danger by being out in public.
He finds a bench and sits on it, just for awhile, watching the pigeons that hop by, the bugs, the wind in the trees.
Life here isn't perfect, he knows: there's crime, there's death, there's suffering. But there's life too, and isn't that incredible?
He just wishes he could have given his own world that back.
He'll stay seated until someone else comes along - if they look like they want the bench, Leo will move to the side.]
Hey, sorry - didn't mean to take up the whole seat, heh.
C2
[Maybe there's a reason people avoid this park, actually, because while Leo is chilling, he hears a crime in progress - specifically a mugging.
Leo gets up, moving quietly to get closer and take a look. It's a human with a gun, and he's not impressed in the slightest.
Soundlessly, Leo moves behind the mugger... and plucks the gun right out of the guy's hand, clicking the safety and then spinning it around his finger.]
I'll be taking that, thank you!
["Hey!" starts the mugger, but when he turns around and gets a look at Leo... he decides to make a hasty retreat.
Maybe you were the victim, or maybe you're just a bystander - either way, catch Leo smirking at the guy's retreating back.]
Ah, come on - [He glances at the person standing there, winking.] - there's no way this handsome face is that scary.
[[OOC: I'll match you if you'd rather do prose than brackets. Also I don't have room for adult Leo icons so you get teen Leo icons but just imagine the big guy, thanks.
Hit me up if you'd like something more specific!]]

...weird things have been happening, okay? You'll just have to deal.
[He grimaces at the thought of having to possibly be stuck with a tiny Leo permanently. With his hands full, he jerks his head forward to get his goggles in place so he can see what all's going on with him.]
Best I can say is that some strange time hijinx are involved. I'm sure it's happened in at least one of our comics for sure. Hmm...
no subject
He looks skeptical that Donnie is actually older than him (they're twins, he can't be older!), but then Donnie brings up time high jinks and their comics and Leo... thinks he gets it!
(He doesn't really but oh well.)]
Like when Juppy Jim travels back in time in uh... uh... [Leo brings up his hands and tries to count on his fingers to remember the number, but gives up after getting to six.] Uuuuhhhh don't 'member.
[Whatever, he has bigger issues here!]
I wanna be big too! I don't wanna be little!
[He starts kicking his feet, though his legs are too short to make contact with anything and it mostly just makes him sway a bit in Donnie's hold.]
no subject
[Donnie's muttering mostly to himself, but when Leo begins moving about, he sighs again and holds him close so he can free up a hand to put his goggles back up.]
Technically, you're supposed to be big too. I'm trying to figure out what's going on here.
What were you doing before you ended up getting chased?
no subject
He does settle down once he’s pulled back close, mainly because Donnie’s talking to him again.
What was he doing before? For some reason he has to think really hard to remember. Something about a drink? Like…
Oh!]
I wanted a juice box so Dad got one for me. But then Mikey stole my race car so I threw the box at his head and it e’sploded! Like, goosh! [Leo shoots his arms up in demonstration, possibly smacking Donnie when he does.]
Mikey laughed! [He adds this part quick, like bullying their younger brother is acceptable under these circumstances.] But I got put in the time out corner cuz Dad had to give Mikey another bath… And I was soooooooo booooooooored!
[He flops back dramatically.]
And then I was just outside!
[His tiny child brain works some gears, then he clings to Donnie.]
Don’t tell Dad! He’ll put me in time out for forever!
no subject
Relax, this one's not your fault. Although...did you really bite a policeman?
[He looks amused at that.]
Not the kind of excitement you'd hope for up top, huh? I promise it's not all bad though.
no subject
It had been scary in the moment but now, back in the familiarity of the sewers and safe with his suddenly-big brother, it feels less scary and more like an adventure that happened. A bad guy came after him and he beat them!]
He grabbed me. [Leo pouts and folds his arms.] He was a bad guy.
[Policeman or not, Leo feels sure of this.]
Do you go up a lot? [He must. He's all big now - practically a grown up!]
no subject
[Donnie laughs then.]
Oh yeah, a whole lot. Still have to be careful, of course. People can be pretty mean sometimes. But they're not all bad. I've made a few friends.
[He glances towards the ladder they'd come down before starting down the corridor. Maybe they should just stick to the low road for now.]
We can go back up if you want, though. Let's just make sure we're not where the bad policeman is.
no subject
Right now, though, he's more interested in what Donnie is talking about.]
You have friends!? Who are they? Can I meet them?
[Leo's too young to remember April, even, so friends outside of their brothers is a Big Deal.]
Do I have friends when I'm big too?
no subject
Haha, yeah you do. I mean, that's a given. You're the most outgoing.
[He switches Leo over to his other arm so he can pull up his holocomputer and a quick toggle of a map to see where about they are.]
Okay, we just have to keep on heading this way a little more and then we can take a left to the next exit.
no subject
Can I meet them? Do they wanna play tag? Or race? Or play Juppy Jim? Oh!
[He’s abruptly distracted by the holoscreen.]
What’s that!?
[He’s reaching for it.]
no subject
That is my holocomputer display. Right now we're looking at a map so I can double-check where we are.
[At least Leo can't mess it up, and now that Donnie's got a heading, he lets Leo paw at the screen, which reacts by shifting the map view as soon as those little fingers touch it.]
no subject
Leo is daydreaming about how cool and popular and rad his older self is while he plays with Donnie's "holoputer", which is also cool and rad. He drags around the display, marveling at how it reacts to his fingers.]
Where'd you get this? [Dad's never given them anything this cool!]
no subject
I built it and programmed it myself. Cool, right? And yes, I'm amazing.
no subject
[Leo is looking at Donnie starry-eyed again. He didn't know Donnie could build stuff like this... but then, Donnie's always been smart like that. He fixed Leo's toy car the other day and it was amazing!
(He just put the wheels back on the axis and the axis back on the car, but for tot-Leo that may as well have been rocket science.)]
That's so cool! You're so cool, Dee!
[He looks at the goggles and what he can see of the battleshell with new eyes. Did Donnie make all of that?]
Can you make other stuff?
no subject
[It is...incredibly complicated trying to work out this feeling as Donnie looks down and sees Leo- his (little) brother looking at him with undeniable admiration. He swallows the annoying lump that's somehow formed in his throat, lips pressed together in the tightest smile as he tries not to lose it.]
I know, right? But it's nice to hear.
[He sucks in a deep breath, pulling out his phone to archive this weirdly precious moment when Leo's adorable and not just annoying. It's weird having that and not too far back along the roll, pictures with an older version of this same brother.]
Oh, I can and have! I could even build you something right here, right now.
no subject
You can build something now?
[Maybe it should occur to him that there's nothing for Donnie to build with out here, but it doesn't. He's a little too young still for that level of critical thinking.]
Like... like a rocket? Or a motorcycle? Or a spaceship!?
no subject
Potentially! Although one of those things would definitely be too big to fit here and the other wouldn't be suitable for use below ground.
...although some would argue that neither are motorcycles, but we live outside the law, let's do it.
[He's such a great role model.
And now he's going to whip up a mystic-tech version of one of the Shellhogs because those designs he knows inside and out.]
no subject
It doesn’t matter though when suddenly there is a motorcycle that seemed to appear out of thin air! Leo is shocked, his eyes wide as he stares at it. Donnie doesn’t just build things, he’s magic!]
How’d you do that!?!
[He’s already wiggling to be put down, arms outstretched as he reaches for the bike to touch it and see if it’s real.]
It’s so awesome! Can I drive it?! Does it go fast?!
no subject
And he is totally recording this. For posterity. Oh who's he kidding, it's totally for rubbing in Leo's face.]
It's my special ability. [NO he is not going to flat out say it's magic, he is absolutely beating around the bush.]
You're a little short to drive this baby but yes, it should go pretty fast. It'll cut us some time to our exit. So what do you say, you up for a ride?
no subject
He's delighted, touching every bit of it he can reach and running around it, back and forth so he can see it from every angle. He's so absorbed he doesn't respond to Donnie's explanation, even though he is curious about how Donnie has a special ability that lets him pull motorcycles out of nowhere.
He looks up finally, jumping in place while he holds his arms up so Donnie can put him on the bike.]
Yes yes yes yes!! Let's go!
no subject
Then he conjures up a couple of helmets for them, because clearly the greatest concern here is not riding without proper head protection and not, you know, riding a motorcycle with a toddler.]
And here we go! [Revin' up and rollin' out!]
no subject
[Leo cheers as the bike takes off, gripping his own little handlebars with one hand and thrusting the other one up. This is so much fun!!
He yells with excitement pretty much the whole ride, pretending to steer with his own handlebars in time with Donnie. This is the coolest and most fun thing he's ever done. He can't wait to brag about it to Mikey and Raph.]
no subject
It's weirdly exhilarating even though it's hardly Donnie's first time on a motorcycle. It's probably because little Leo is enjoying it so much. Watching him mimic his steering is amusing and terribly cute.
Not wanting to cut the kid's fun short, Donnie decides to continue on a few more stretches of tunnels and turns before he starts bringing the bike to a halt.]
Haha! Not bad, huh?
no subject
[Leo throws his hands in the air, then turns back to Donnie. His eyes are big and wide and excited, his smile about to break his cheeks.]
We went so fast! Like vrooom! vrooom! [He demonstrates with his hands.] I thought we were gonna go in the water! Can we do that again!?
no subject
Maybe later. Big bro can't keep it up too long or it gets tiring. Anyway, don't you wanna head up?
[He disembarks and then picks up Leo, letting the bike and helmets vanish. Taking a moment to make sure he's got his feet under him. It's a lot different holding together an active construct for a length of time than forming or using weapons in bursts.]
