"Batkid and Red Robin. Do either of those names sound familiar to you?" Jason says.

"Uh-huh?"

Well, now he's just clearly confused. "That's you and me?"

[robintohood]

"In the dream, yeah. That's what happened," Jason elaborates. "But that's not what we really are."

[overlyprecocious]

Well, now he's really confused. He's pretty sure that's who they are? That's what he remembers!

"What?"

[robintohood]

Oh jeez. This conversation continues to be tough for Jason. He'll just need to come out and say it.

"I think your memories are a mess from the age down and from that dream. You're actually Robin and usually 14. B's alive and still Batman."

[overlyprecocious]

That's not.



That's not right, though? He definitely remembers being Batkid. He wasn't Robin. He isn't Robin!

"But... I remember it."

[robintohood]

Jason shakes his head.

"It's the dream," he continues. "I had it too, just last night. It felt so real."

[overlyprecocious]

Thanks to his seven-year-old brain, this is. Upsetting.

"But - if you know it too, then how is it not real?"

[robintohood]

"Don't know. A lot of things got messed up after Fantastic's show and the monster hordes," Jason says with a furrowed brow. He doesn't like upsetting a kid but it was still better to let him know the truth. "When I woke up, it took me a while to get it straight what was real and what was from the dream."

[overlyprecocious]

"Oh."

He's not sure how much he believes that, because his head is still full of Red Robin and Batkid, and how he helped stop Jason from making a big mistake and Jason took him in, but... Jason believes it, and that's important, right?

He starts to climb down off the stool. "So I should go back to Dick?"

[robintohood]

"No, it's fine," Jason says. He'd rather not have Tim go off by himself again. "We're still brothers and you're not bothering me."

[overlyprecocious]

He pauses, but he's clearly not completely convinced about this. "Dick might worry..."

Since apparently Dick is responsible for him now.

[robintohood]

"I'll text him and let him know you're with me," Jason assures. He also knows Dick must be busier than usual given everything else going on with their brothers.

[overlyprecocious]

"Okay."

He kind of settles back onto the barstool, even if he feels weird now knowing that Jason isn't really the Jason he thought he was? But also, if Jason is to be believed then neither is Tim.

It's confusing.

[robintohood]

"Had breakfast yet?" Jason asks, figuring the kid was more concerned about him than taking care of himself first.

[overlyprecocious]

"Uh-uh."

It was way more important to find Jason first, he'd thought.

[robintohood]

"Come on," Jason says, unsurprised and gestures towards the kitchen. "I can make you some waffles at least. No one's around yet."

His little face brightens up a bit. "I could eat waffles."

"Good," Jason smiles back. "I'll let you pick out the toppings too."
