Little Love

Little Love is easy to come back to. The creatures from the previous, repetitive September 1sts are... nostalgic. Some of her earliest days with the X-Men had involved jaunts to the Savage Land, and this was very reminiscent of that.

While Ororo isn't exactly interested in bounties, she can't turn down help when it is asked. So she finds herself in the air, safe distances away from the bigger beasts and scooping them up into precisely-fashioned cyclones, spinning just fast enough to contain and disorient them. Easily done, considering how many times she'd had to do this to the same, or similar beasts before.

She looks to the nearest person assisting her with the job. "Where is the nearest holding station?"

Exelsior

Ororo is drawn to Exelsior, mostly because it seems that most of the younger mutants from her world are here. She makes her rounds, takes peeks at the homes they've made, makes sure they're eating things that aren't junkfood, and then explores the rest of the city.

Gabby and Julian had managed to create a little park for the friendlier beasts they rounded up at Little Love, so she comes to visit them on a weekend. Honestly, she can't believe they've really done this, and spends more time than she ought to just going around what they've managed to do. By the afternoon she'd flown with a perfectly docile pterodactyl and then had a sleeping sabretooth puma in her lap.

Of course, there's also the matter of the recurring power outages. While she's there, she offers what help she can - being a literal light in the darkness, kickstarting generators whenever they're needed, keeping freezers cold with sheets of ice and snow.

Then the total blackout happens, and she's flying off to the power grid to investigate. There must be something she can do. She's hard to miss - hair and body glowing with crackling lighting as she streaks across the sky.

That would be sad, yes.

I hope you can take care of them all. They don't seem easy to look after; what do you think you'll feed them?

I guess the same stuff I feed Jonathan.

But like — [ and she stretches her arms out. ] — more of it?

And where will we get all that?

That part I haven't figured out yet.

Do you want to figure it out together?

[ She's maybe a little concerned about where she's going to get all the raw meat these carnivores are going to need. ]

Do you have any ideas?

If there are any zoos or animal sanctuaries anywhere here, I'm sure we can see what they feed the predators they care for. We could do the same for the ones you keep in here.

That makes sense.

Do you think they'll help?

[agoddessonce]

We won't know until we ask.

If all else fails, we can keep feeding them steak. Or perhaps something a little cheaper - you've rounded up quite a few friends here.

None of them are particularly troublesome, are they?

Some keep trying to bite me, but I guess they're not used to my reflexes.

Perhaps it is because you smell like the steak you keep feeding them.

Are there any that are less prone to bites?

I think the herbivores were okay.

[agoddessonce]

That's good, as long as they don't hurt you in other ways.

Are there any bigger felines around? [ Ororo looks around expectantly. ]

[honeybadgerer]

Uhm, maybe. Why?

[agoddessonce]

[ She's looking for a panther. ]

A friend of ours, Ka-Zar, he had a large one as a loyal companion. I wondered if there was a similar one here.

[honeybadgerer]

Maaaaybe?

I think I saw a sabertooth tiger.

An adult, or a cub?

[honeybadgerer]

I think it was older?

[agoddessonce]

I will keep an eye out for it.

You want to adopt a prehistoric animal?

Maybe a panther, or the ancestor of one. I had some sort of connection with them, once before. It would be nice to see if I still had it.

That is so cool.

Only if the connection still remains.

I don't know if this world even has a Panther God. [ But it's worth finding out! ]

Do you think there's a Wolverine god too?

[agoddessonce]

[ Alright, that gets a hearty chuckle out of her. ]

If there is one, I would like to meet and challenge them, too. Perhaps they will help me deal with your father more reliably.
