A: Can we go thrift shopping?

[Turns out Leo's credit card doesn't work in the past, a fact that would not be shocking to most people but is a little shocking to the teenager. He just didn't consider it, alright!

Thankfully he did think to keep a little cash on him, though it's not a lot. Still, Leo has been making do his whole life, often with no money at all, so he's not intimidated by the challenge.

He has a skateboard he liberated from some trash, and new dudes purchased for a few bucks from a charity thrift store. He has fully embraced his best 80s style, which is to say bright colors and geometric patterns. Even if he weren't a turtle he would stand out right now.

Leo whirls around in front of the shop, checking himself out in the window and impeding foot traffic.]

Yeah, I can definitely get into this.

B: Crime Never Sleeps

[Sure, Leo is supposed to be looking for Chaos Gate, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a little time to stop some crime. Especially since he's made contact with Starstruck and his crew, and especially seeing how villains just run amok in Central City 1985.

It's dusk now, and Leo is currently chasing a duo of thieves that just held up a liquor store. He runs over the rooftops to avoid the traffic down below, then portals down to street level, just in front of the crooks. He raises his katana to halt their advance, one raised close enough to one thief's throat to make him stop dead in his tracks.]

Don't mind if I get to the point.

[Unfortunately, the other thief ducks Leo's swords and keeps running. Leo can only glance over his shoulder, irate.]

Hey, no fair! You're supposed to surrender now!

[Little help?]

C: Earth, Wind, Fire, and Turtle

[There are lots of classic 80s things Leo wants to try, but today he has been pulled decisively toward a pretty crowded roller rink that is doing a disco night. Though the place is packed, most of the locals part the way for Leo, given his inhuman appearance.

He's decided not to let it bother him, though, having an absolutely blast gliding around on the rink and dancing to the 70s and 80s hits blasting through the speakers.

As the song ends, Leo changes course and glides to the wall. Maybe you came with him or maybe he just recognizes you, or maybe you were alone and he decided to come pick up conversation. No matter the case, he spins to a stop and leans against the wall.]

This place is - oh, what do they say? ah - totally tubular.

[Hey, he recognizes that surly and disappointed tone!

Leo turns, grinning growing impossibly wider when he spots Accelerator. If he's surprised to see him here, or angry that he time traveled without telling them, he isn't showing it.

(He is a little concerned that Accelerator didn't tell anyone, but it's not really a surprise so he's willing to let it go with minimal razzing.)]

Heeeeey Accy! I knew I'd run into you sooner or later!

[It's just like Leo to not take a situation like this seriously....

Accelerator scowls back, totally unamused, not at all looking forward to having to explain his shitty behaviour and keep an eye on Leo (and Donnie, most likely).]

That makes one of us. What the fuck are you doing here?

[faceguy]

[He takes everything seriously!]

What, you really thought we weren't going to follow Chaos Gate, too? We need all this confluence stuff to get fixed so we can go home.

And more importantly... [Leo gestures at himself.] I think I was made for this decade.

[levelshift]

.......... [He was hoping they'd stay home, since time travel seems pretty dangerous and all.....

Not that he'd ever say that out loud.]

This isn't some goddamned vacation. The sooner we can find Chaos Gate the sooner we can leave.

[faceguy]

[Since when has something being dangerous stopped them?]

Yeah, yeah, I know. Bad news, though, all Donnie's tracking equipment doesn't work in this time period, since it's basically the stone ages.

[He can't keep up his Snapchat streak like this... bummer.]

Actually, like, most of his tech isn't working and he's being a real gloomy Gus about it. But you didn't hear that from me.

[levelshift]

..... [Well, that complicates things. He sighs a little.]

I'm not surprised. [He jabs a finger at his choker.] This piece of shit was malfunctioning, too. I had to hunt down Mechanima to fix it.

[faceguy]

Oh yeah? What's he up to in this time period?

[Maybe he can help them.]

[levelshift]

He was in prison.

[Accelerator's voice is flat.]

I took care of it.

[faceguy]

Sheesh. Didn't bring the whole building down, did you?

[Already up to trouble...]

[levelshift]

[Wow, rude.]

I'm capable of controlling myself when I need to.

[He only broke a little bit of the building, okay.]

[faceguy]

Hey, I trust you! Mostly.

[He might check the news for any word of a massive prison break later, though. Just in case.]

Does he know anything about where Chaos Gate might be?

[levelshift]

[Accelerator isn't sure if that's the right response, or if he should retort back with how Leo shouldn't trust him at all.

After a moment of thought he decides to leave it alone.]

He gave me a few ideas. I think she's going to target Godfall, or go after members of that cult. Or both.

[He sighs, reaching up to run a hand through his hair.]

If she's going after cult members, I don't think I'm going to try and stop her.

[faceguy]

[Probably for the best, or Leo would have only gotten more insistent.]

[Godfall. Right, that thing that happened. That Leo definitely learned about. Probably.

Anyway!]

I get that, but it could end up changing the future. Or even create a... a... Augh, I always forget that nerd word Donnie used.

[He knocks his fist against his temple a few times like it might physically jog some gears, then smacks his palms together.]

Bifurcated time branch! Yeah, that.

[levelshift]

[Leo, wh... at.]

Since when have you two talked about time travel to that extent? Was it the plot of some Jupiter Jim movie?

[It's one thing for himself and Donnie to be familiar with time travel theories, because Donnie is a big nerd and those theories are popular in quantum mechanics, but Leo? No way.]

[faceguy]

Yeah! And a six issue run of the comics - ah, but that's not where I learned it from.

[As much as he would love to infodump about the Time Warp! issue of Jupiter Jim to Accelerator. In fact he'd rather do that than explain any of this, but...]

Remember how I said I locked up the thing that hurt my brothers? [In the Prison Dimension that Accelerator got a taste of in the nightmare room, but Leo won't bring that back up if he doesn't have to.] Well, turns out... we didn't win against it the first time. So a guy came back in time to warn us, to try and stop the invasion before it even happened.

[Which clearly went great!]

[That was supposed to be a joke....

Anyways. He certainly remembers the Prison Dimension and the Krang, though this time traveling part is new information. Accelerator raises an eyebrow.]

So you've got experience with this kind of shit. [That's very useful!] Who was he, how'd he travel back, and how'd he get back to his own time?

[faceguy]

[It's fair to assume that if it's a sci-fi concept, Jupiter Jim has done it.

Unfortunately, Accelerator is jumping straight to the hard questions. Leo answers them in order.]

His name's Casey Jones. He's... well, I think he's the son of one of my friends from my world. Her future son. [In case that wasn't clear.] He knew all of us from the future and they have the same name, so it's a safe bet.

[If anyone would name their kid after themself it would be Cassandra "Casey" Jones.]

My little brother sent him back. Well, the future, adult, apparently basically a wizard version of my little brother sent him back, because it turns out that's a thing that he learns how to do! And...

[Leo looks a little uncomfortable with this next part, but, well, Accelerator might as well know. He's told everyone else important to him about it.]

I... don't know what happened to him - because I got brought here. And I'm not sure he would want to go back even if we found a way. [Leo folds his arms across his chest.] He said... in his time, everyone is dead.

[Yes, including Leo and Donnie.]

[Accelerator listens quietly, taking everything in. He has to wonder if they're creating a bifurcated timeline like the turtles and his Casey person, or if it'll be a closed timeloop....

If it's the former, then will they be going back to their original timeline? Or the new one they're creating? What about the Confluence forces? Will they have any way of returning to their own respective universes? Can they even get back? He isn't sure if anyone who came into the past can time travel using science or wizardry.

He frowns. There are a lot of questions, and not many answers.]

....

[He's sure about one thing, at least. He glares at Leo.]

Well, I'll make sure you two don't get to take the easy way out.

[AKA the absolute worst way of saying he'll make sure they don't die here.]

[It is a lot of questions, and admittedly Leo didn’t have much of a plan for how to get back when he jumped in. But he felt like he couldn’t do nothing, not after their encounter with Katherine.

And so here he is. Figuring out how to get back is a problem for after they’ve figured out how to help her. She got here somehow so surely getting back will work itself out.

But Accelerator’s declaration makes him snort.]

You always have to pick the most ominous way to say you care, huh?

[It’s one of his cuter character traits, in Leo’s opinion.]

[levelshift]

[Accelerator just scowls as per usual.]

Tche, don't read too much into it.

[He wouldn't be himself if he didn't make a simple statement involving emotions extremely ridiculous and dramatic.]

Have you found any important information you want to share?

[faceguy]

[He'll read into it!]

Uh, not really, I guess. Donnie's been trying to find out more about Chaos Gate but he hasn't gotten much of anywhere. Oh, and I met that Starstruck guy!

[Not that he really knows the significance of it yet.]

[levelshift]

[Accelerator clicks his tongue in annoyance.]

Why the hell did you meet him?

[faceguy]

He's the hip new guy running the scene, obviously. And if we're trying to find her, we need contacts who have lots of eyes and ears on the ground.

[It's a sensible choice, in Leo's estimation.]

[levelshift]

['Lots of eyes and ears' isn't how he operates. It's how Leo does though, so he isn't going to argue.]

So you're recruiting a whole team, huh. Great.

[faceguy]

Well, I mean, it's more like I'm partnering with Starstruck's team. But yeah, I guess.

[He doesn't really like the idea of... recruiting people, but it's not really incorrect...]

Something wrong with that?
