[There may be some changes to the timeline now but Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is still open for business. There are always people looking to have a good time drinking and blowing off some steam with a good song. It doesn’t matter if they’re ordinary civilians or some of Central City’s more... colorful characters. Just be nice to the bouncers and check your weapons by the entrance first.

To reflect the fall season, Descendant has included seasonal drinks like pumpkin beer, apple cocktails, and spiced maple bourbon.

Meanwhile, some of this month's most popular songs seem to be reflecting Halloween, such as Highway to Hell and Monsters. Or maybe you want to do a more classy number like Witchcraft? Descendant looks like a speakeasy after all. And in a total coincidence, Time Warp has also shown up on the popularity chart.

If you drop by at Descendant on a Coyote Ugly Night, you’ll find the atmosphere considerably wilder and wetter. You might’ve even already seen some of the social media posts and videos of the employees performing. They certainly look like they’re having a good time.

Perhaps you’re coming in during a more normal time. Come by for a drink. Maybe rent a private karaoke room or karaoke on stage in front of others if you’re feeling brave. There are some bar games around too.

You can always just people watch as well. Those who are especially observant might notice that some of Descendant’s customers are a bit... furtive as they keep their heads low or quickly scurry to one of the private rooms.

There’s always the reading room too for those who want a more quiet ambiance.

And then there's the very select few who are allowed upstairs in the attic apartment.

Whatever the case may be, Jason will be around. As Descendant’s owner, he’s a busy guy with plenty he has to do]

His self-satisfied grin is answer enough to what a man can get up to with a roll of singles as big as a pork roast. But really, it's the laundry and vending machines he's truly excited about. Standards get pretty low when you volunteer for the homeless life.

If I thought he'd let me watch. [ It's said with a straight face and for the sole purpose of bothering Tim. Then, like whiplash, Midnighter changes the subject abruptly with another question. ] Does everyone have to dance if they're on shift?

[ Rolling with the punches is one thing, but apparently working in the bar for nearly a year hasn’t inoculated Tim against every possible casual remark about his brothers and friends.

The combination of it being another vigilante - who knows them - and Jay of all people is enough to fluster Tim out of snappy comebacks. What’s he supposed to do, tell him the worst Jay can say is no and setup a potential pseudo friendly brawl?

(No, god no. He wants to stay far away from either Jason’s love life even in thoughts.)

Have to? Probably not. I can’t see anyone being forced if they’re dead against it. But if you’re only uncertain, you’re going to end up there. Why do you think I’m straightening the rooms?

You're also up against the bubblegum pop equivalent of acrobats. Everyone's gonna be left in the dust. I can lick my own elbow, dislocate my shoulders, and fold into a pretzel, and I'd still come up short.

What if you went the Catholic school girl route? This place already has two "bad boys," so fill a new niche.

And here I thought it was because I've got more dirt than Dick and a sunnier personality than Jay.

[ Not to say that Dick is uninformed, but he just got back from 1985 and he sleeps twice as much as Tim. ]

I've given up comparing myself to Dick. It's not healthy or fair, unless you grew up on sawdust and sequins. And I'd look awful in the uniform by now, I hope. Long wigs itch.

[ There's a sigh. He also doesn't have feminization on his dance card, and Tim's not particularly interested in experimenting with gender (with all the things he does fit into his life and training, something had to give and so gender expression is fairly off-the-rack and unexamined.

In his defense, it was a student nurse uniform, because while a 16 year old male can't pass as a 21 year old man, apparently I made a highly acceptable young woman.

I'm the one who told him I wanted more practical experiences with disguises. Someone had to get into the morgue.

There are plenty of ways to get into a morgue that don't involve padding. But you and Dick like to do everything the complicated way. It's cute.

And I don't overcomplicate things. There are certain instances where stealth isn't suffficient, so undercover is a necessity.
