[OPEN] Maybe not a literal monster mash
Who: Jason Todd
robintohood and you. Also a mingle!
What: Various antics at Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge during October
When: Throughout October
Where: Central City
Content Warnings: N/A for now. Will edit if needed.
[There may be some changes to the timeline now but Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is still open for business. There are always people looking to have a good time drinking and blowing off some steam with a good song. It doesn’t matter if they’re ordinary civilians or some of Central City’s more... colorful characters. Just be nice to the bouncers and check your weapons by the entrance first.
To reflect the fall season, Descendant has included seasonal drinks like pumpkin beer, apple cocktails, and spiced maple bourbon.
Meanwhile, some of this month's most popular songs seem to be reflecting Halloween, such as Highway to Hell and Monsters. Or maybe you want to do a more classy number like Witchcraft? Descendant looks like a speakeasy after all. And in a total coincidence, Time Warp has also shown up on the popularity chart.
If you drop by at Descendant on a Coyote Ugly Night, you’ll find the atmosphere considerably wilder and wetter. You might’ve even already seen some of the social media posts and videos of the employees performing. They certainly look like they’re having a good time.
Perhaps you’re coming in during a more normal time. Come by for a drink. Maybe rent a private karaoke room or karaoke on stage in front of others if you’re feeling brave. There are some bar games around too.
You can always just people watch as well. Those who are especially observant might notice that some of Descendant’s customers are a bit... furtive as they keep their heads low or quickly scurry to one of the private rooms.
There’s always the reading room too for those who want a more quiet ambiance.
And then there's the very select few who are allowed upstairs in the attic apartment.
Whatever the case may be, Jason will be around. As Descendant’s owner, he’s a busy guy with plenty he has to do]
((OOC: Jason will be around but feel free to mingle! My contact information is on this journal's profile and I'm in the game's Discord server. Also feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns as well. I also have a feedback post.))

He goes and gets a really good bottle of wine, making note of it behind the counter before bringing it back to Diana's table, along with a bottle of water for himself. "Still on shift, so no drinking." Not that he's ever been a big drinker as Dick Grayson.
He settles back with a sigh and runs a hand back through his hair. "Mostly good, I think? Had a bit of a blow out with Jay, but that's not unusual. We'll either talk it out or fight it out eventually." His vote was on fight. "Mostly sorting things out now, figuring out what we've got and where to start looking for my 'pet project'."

She takes the bottle and studies it with interest, then pours herself a glass, smiling at his last statement. "Good! So you've started thinking about it? Where will it be?"
no subject
"That part, I haven't figured out yet. But we can definitely afford a place that needs less doing to it. Though still might be stripped back a lot in order to get in the security that TJ and Babs would prefer." And would be able to manage because it would be the family and people close to them that would be living there. Which means people who would understand the certain paranoia that comes with Batman's training. "But it will be in Central. Just need to find a building that works for our needs."
no subject
She may not be much of a dab hand at building or design, but she can certainly lift whatever needs to be lifted, especially the large, room-sized computers favored by so many of the bats. "It sounds a most worthy endeavor."

He takes a drink of water, then leans forward. "Tell me to mind my business if you need to, because you're putting on a good face, but you seem a bit down tonight."
no subject
She rolls the stem of her glass in her fingers, preoccupied. "Dick, have you heard from Bruce at all, lately?"
no subject
Knowing that Bruce probably hadn't told many.
"I did tell him to let you know as well, but I was left on read."
no subject
She deflates, a little, and looks down at the wine. "Well. Thank you for letting me know."
Looking back up at him, she offers a small smile. "I appreciate the effort. I expect he has his own reasons for not contacting me about it."
no subject
He reaches out, placing his hand on her forearm. "You have to remember that he's not just Bruce. He's Bruce who has only been doing this for two years. He is, somehow, even more socially stunted than the one we know." And Bruce, for all that he could fake it, could be very socially stunted. "But he's also the one that we all learned how to handle relationships from. Which is probably why we all run off to do something to clear our heads when something's important."

In place of wine and a cooling dinner with Alfred, she's having drinks at Jason's bar, with Dick. There's a sort of comforting symmetry in that. She pats Dick's hand where it curves over her forearm and smiles more warmly at him. "It's all right, Dick. Perhaps, if I'm very lucky, I'll find something mythological on which to vent my frustrations. In the meantime, I thank you for your thoughtful words."
no subject
He does grin at her. "Halloween is coming up. I'm sure something will come out of the woodwork for you to deal with."
no subject
"...I wonder what Halloween will look like in this world. It seems almost anything can happen here." She smiles at him. "Planning to dress up?"
no subject
He shakes his head slightly. "I don't know. I've only been here since February. It's a Tuesday, so I may be working. Or I might give out candy at home." Since he lives in an apartment and the building does have a fair number of kids. "As for dressing up? Probably only for the Halloween party here at the bar. Might keep that a surprise, though."
