[There may be some changes to the timeline now but Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is still open for business. There are always people looking to have a good time drinking and blowing off some steam with a good song. It doesn’t matter if they’re ordinary civilians or some of Central City’s more... colorful characters. Just be nice to the bouncers and check your weapons by the entrance first.

To reflect the fall season, Descendant has included seasonal drinks like pumpkin beer, apple cocktails, and spiced maple bourbon.

Meanwhile, some of this month's most popular songs seem to be reflecting Halloween, such as Highway to Hell and Monsters. Or maybe you want to do a more classy number like Witchcraft? Descendant looks like a speakeasy after all. And in a total coincidence, Time Warp has also shown up on the popularity chart.

If you drop by at Descendant on a Coyote Ugly Night, you’ll find the atmosphere considerably wilder and wetter. You might’ve even already seen some of the social media posts and videos of the employees performing. They certainly look like they’re having a good time.

Perhaps you’re coming in during a more normal time. Come by for a drink. Maybe rent a private karaoke room or karaoke on stage in front of others if you’re feeling brave. There are some bar games around too.

You can always just people watch as well. Those who are especially observant might notice that some of Descendant’s customers are a bit... furtive as they keep their heads low or quickly scurry to one of the private rooms.

There’s always the reading room too for those who want a more quiet ambiance.

And then there's the very select few who are allowed upstairs in the attic apartment.

Whatever the case may be, Jason will be around. As Descendant’s owner, he’s a busy guy with plenty he has to do]

[ She reaches to stroke the puppy's head, more out of reflex than by design. ]

Do you... know where he is?

( he'll allow it. unlike the two people bear has spent the most time around: he responds well to soft affection, paws coming up to shove their way out of jason's jacket, too, in an effort to climb out and get even more pets. jason, meanwhile, makes a face like he'd just eaten something a little too sour. )

I can find out. What'd he do?

( are the trackers he put on bruce's fun car still on it? he could check. he could also just let himself into bruce's temporary cave, too, break into his shit and see if he can figure out where he'd wandered off to based off of his recent activity. track down his phone, ask kas to see if he can find him on surveillance cameras.. jason has options. )

[ She pets the little dog's soft ears and gently scratches beneath his chin, preoccupied. ]

I suppose it's more what he didn't do. We were supposed to talk, but when I arrived I found the dorm completed and empty. Bruce was gone.

[ And what is she supposed to think? ]

I haven't heard from him since.

He's still in his loner, I'm vengeance phase.

( which is rude, considering that's jason's thing now. maybe not the gruff growly murmurs of it to people while he's taking them out. and while jason would say his version of justice is just as good as bruce's, that vengeance and justice don't necessarily have to hit different notes when the pieces of garbage he's going after deserve it, well.

a moral argument he knows better than to get into. he raises his glass up to his mouth to take a drink of his whiskey, uses the motion to space out his sentences. )

B's gonna pull a shitton of stupid moves before he even starts to get over it, an' then he'll cycle back around into it as soon as he starts getting comfortable spending time around others. 'cause he's an emotionally constipated idiot who gives himself slack before he pulls the whole, I'm not cut out for taking care of anyone card out and winds himself up tight again.

( while the intention here was to describe the tiny bruce wayne rampaging around this universe, he's nearly describing jason todd. which he's going to catch onto as soon as his mouth stops moving and immediately regret ever opening it to begin with. )

He called me out here to get his dog an' fucked off again without taking him back.

[ The dog, at least, doesn't seem to mind. It licks at Diana's fingers and wins a small smile from her. ]

I may have... misinterpreted some things.

Why didn't he take the dog along with him?

You want me to take a guess?

( he's not waiting for an answer, because - it's not really much of a guess as much as it is one of three options bruce is getting up to. jason knows him well enough to know what to expect of him. )

He's taken his Skyline back out onto the streets. Likely he's fucked off, using some stupid fake name that sounds fake, an' he's drag racing somewhere between here an' Excelsior to get some extra cash flow going while also gathering intel on the shady fucks running the races. Which isn't shit he'd want to take Bear into, thus, he left him. He's not doing it 'cause he needs the money, he's doing it 'cause he hates feelings an' most've us know where his new cave is. He doesn't wanna move it just yet, but he doesn't wanna be found either.

[ She considers this, while lifting her hand away from the cheerful puppy. She's not detective, but she happens to be around a surfeit of them just now. ]

But you could help me find him.

Cocoa Bear. Dickie named him.

( diana lifts her hand away, so jason slips his own back under bear. takes another drink of his whiskey. )

I can find him. He's still young.

[ She curves her own fingers around the glass he'd given her, though she doesn't lift it for a drink. ]

Bear seems satisfied with his lot, anyway. He likes you.

I miss Ace. ( there's a loose lift of his shoulders, like he's--trying to make it significantly more casual than he really needs to. like missing the family dog is something that feels too big to admit to, even if jason also knows that it's not that big of a deal. trying to lessen it for himself, but also trying to make sure it's not taken as something huge either. emotions are complicated. ) Asshole'd get his hair all over my jacket an' try to run off with it every damn time he got the opportunity to. Didn't listen to me worth shit.

( bear isn't a fill-in, but jason's always had a soft spot for animals. which is why he's bitching at bruce for leaving his very small new orphan with jason instead of just foisting him off onto dick or someone else more qualified for taking care of a pet. he throws back the rest of his whiskey, before pulling himself up to his feet. inclines his head back towards the staff only area. )

'll check on the trackers. See if he missed any of 'em. If not, I've got other shit we can go for.

[ She isn't familiar with Ace, but she's familiar – and more than – with the complex shift of emotions in Jason's words.

Diana pushes up to join him, then looks past his shoulder and gives him a questioning glance. ]

Oh, I'm not staff.

( or when he is playing at it, he's not actually staff. just some asshole who shows up to make junior's life harder. )

But I'm not pulling out my toys out here.

[ That makes a reasonable amount of sense. She gets up, taking her untouched whiskey with her, and follows him to the door. ]

Do you come here a lot?

Nah. Usually just when they turn this place into a strip club. Junior's easy to piss off.

( and jason likes doing it, even if his methods are a little unorthodox. maybe even moreso because they are. soon as they're back behind the door, he's reaching for his wrist, pulls off the red braided bracelet on it, and it unfolds into his domino mask. tony stark's gone, the tech he left behind isn't. even better: it doesn't need spirit gum for jason to shove it up against his face and make it stay there. the white lenses flash, and jason keeps on walking as the HUD boots up. )

Put trackers on all of B's shit last time I stopped by his cave. His fun car, the batcar, his suit--most've them have been disabled, but not all of 'em.

[ The ways of Bruce and his family are not her ways; stealth isn't one of her strong suits unless used during a hunt. And she would find the constant paranoia and suspicion exhausting, she suspects.

But there's no doubting it's effective. She follows as he walks, wondering what he might be seeing behind that domino mask. ]

Not really. Just standard protocol.

( even as he says it, there's a very, very faint blush over the tips of his ears. compliments from wonder woman, his favorite leaguer, feel great. but stalking their entire goddamn family is just how they operate; jason always knows where dick jr's at, tracker installed directly into his suit that he carries around with him everywhere he goes, among the numerous other ones in his clothes, his weapons, just in case. he's got bugs inside the central city base tim spends most of his time, cameras outside every opening, and while jason's own apartment in central lacks any bugs (of his own design) on the inside, the security's ridiculously difficult to get through and there's cameras focused on every potential exit and entrance. just in case.

he stops and turns back towards diana, idly petting bear while eyes sift through screens behind his domino mask. there's the disabled tracker, a few left in bruce's cave, the bug that's getting no audio feedback in the batmobile, and then one that's significantly out of where bruce is generally found. he clicks his tongue, nose scrunching up before he's reaching to pull the mask back off so when he looks to diana, it's eye to eye, no lenses between them. )

He's off in Vegas. I can lend you one of my phones an' input the tracker's frequency so you can track him down, if you want.

( she's wonder woman. jason'll give her all the toys she wants. within reason. )

[ Vegas. She hasn't the first idea what might have brought him there, save that it's nearly all the way across the country from where she is.

And here's Jason, helping her despite his own issues with Bruce – and she knows he has his reasons for tracking Bruce, for everything else – offering even more help even outside of the location he'd found so swiftly, and Diana steps in to press a gentle kiss to his cheek, the way she had now and then back when he was a child, when he was Robin. ]

( the flush grows a little brighter, and jason grumbles a soft "yeah, whatever" before he's shoving his mask back on once more and--pressing his palms along the pockets of his jeans. pulls out a couple smart phones from his back pocket, and unlocks the screen on one. there's an app on it simply labeled with an "O", which opens up into a large map with various labeled icons - mostly live in central city, but there's a couple in new york, excelsior, and the one off in vegas.

he goes through and removes a good portion of them, locks it onto the one in vegas, then closes out of the app so he can disable the screenlock and change it to a more simple passcode.

offers the phone over once he's finished. )

Zero four two seven to get into it. Only app on the main screen. The tracker's on his car.

[ She takes the phone and types in the passcode, then looks at the small glowing dot all the way across the country, which is where she'll find Bruce. The temptation is there to simply go, now, to spend the rest of her night in flight, in pursuit of someone who has made it clear he isn't interested in speaking with her.

He can have a few more hours. She turns off the screen and pockets the phone, then looks back to Jason. ]

Is there anything I can help you with, in return? Or shall I simply owe you a favor?

[ Said with a smile; as though she would ever require barter from Jason if he needed her. If there were anything she could do for him. As though she would need any greater reason than to do it for love of him and his family. ]

[reneger]

You don't owe me anything.

( he trusts diana to manage bruce as much as anyone can manage him. giving up bruce's location to her isn't anything he feels the need to over-analyze. she's his friend, whether or not he knows who she is just yet. while favors from wonder woman would be handy, jason doesn't want to have that to hold over her, either. and anything he'd ask her for that she would do, she'd do anyway. no need for that. )

Tell him to hurry up an' get his dog back, before Bear pulls the same shit Dickie did and decides he's just gonna stay in my place.

( jason would let a dog bully him. but he'd feel pretty shitty about it, given - he's barely equipped to handle a teenaged vigilante, let alone a dog. )

[ He may have told Jason that he was going, but nothing else... and she imagines he will want to retrieve the dog. Speaking of the creature, Diana leans to pet its soft head once more, smiling as the little thing licks at her fingers. ]

In the meantime, I wish you joy of one another. I'll see you when I'm back, Jason, but don't hesitate to reach out if you need me before then.

[reneger]

I'll be just fine.

( but the offer's nice, and he's pleased to have gotten it anyway. who wouldn't be happy to have wonder woman tell them to reach out to her if they need anything? idiots, that's who. )

Kick his ass for me. He deserves it.

[ She's amused, but: she doesn't lie. Part of her thinks maybe he does deserve it. But she'll give him a chance to explain. Probably. She hasn't had to fight this Bruce yet and would prefer to put it off as long as possible, but she suspects she may need to, at the very least, remove any avenue for escape. ]
