[OPEN] Maybe not a literal monster mash
Who: Jason Todd
robintohood and you. Also a mingle!
What: Various antics at Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge during October
When: Throughout October
Where: Central City
Content Warnings: N/A for now. Will edit if needed.
[There may be some changes to the timeline now but Descendant Karaoke Bar and Lounge is still open for business. There are always people looking to have a good time drinking and blowing off some steam with a good song. It doesn’t matter if they’re ordinary civilians or some of Central City’s more... colorful characters. Just be nice to the bouncers and check your weapons by the entrance first.
To reflect the fall season, Descendant has included seasonal drinks like pumpkin beer, apple cocktails, and spiced maple bourbon.
Meanwhile, some of this month's most popular songs seem to be reflecting Halloween, such as Highway to Hell and Monsters. Or maybe you want to do a more classy number like Witchcraft? Descendant looks like a speakeasy after all. And in a total coincidence, Time Warp has also shown up on the popularity chart.
If you drop by at Descendant on a Coyote Ugly Night, you’ll find the atmosphere considerably wilder and wetter. You might’ve even already seen some of the social media posts and videos of the employees performing. They certainly look like they’re having a good time.
Perhaps you’re coming in during a more normal time. Come by for a drink. Maybe rent a private karaoke room or karaoke on stage in front of others if you’re feeling brave. There are some bar games around too.
You can always just people watch as well. Those who are especially observant might notice that some of Descendant’s customers are a bit... furtive as they keep their heads low or quickly scurry to one of the private rooms.
There’s always the reading room too for those who want a more quiet ambiance.
And then there's the very select few who are allowed upstairs in the attic apartment.
Whatever the case may be, Jason will be around. As Descendant’s owner, he’s a busy guy with plenty he has to do]
((OOC: Jason will be around but feel free to mingle! My contact information is on this journal's profile and I'm in the game's Discord server. Also feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns as well. I also have a feedback post.))

[ Her smile turns a little crooked, still warm, but now equally as wry. ]
It's the sort of trouble that can be helped a little by a drink, I think, and a great deal by a friendly face. Outside advice would not be unwelcome, in this particular situation.
[ Things are complicated enough between Bruce and the children. She'd rather not complicate it further. ]

[ She lifts her bottle to clink it against Diana's drink gently. She can and does get tipsy, but her tolerance is higher than most. ]
Tell me what happened?
no subject
[ She sets her wine down after clinking their glasses together, then turns it in her hands, preoccupied. ]
You recall I went back to the past with a... version of a friend from my own world, I think?
no subject
[ Ororo sets her beer down, suddenly frowning. ]
Are they alright? Did they make it back with you fine?
no subject
But while we were there – well. We grew a little... closer... than usual. And I had thought –
[ She shakes her head at herself and gazes glumly at her wine. ]
We were going to talk. But he seems to have simply gone off somewhere, with no word to me. So perhaps I was wrong.
no subject
That is frustrating, but that does not mean you were wrong. Perhaps he was afraid of facing whatever it was you might have. [ She tries for a dry smile. She knew the type well. ]
Some people are like that, afraid of acknowledging new and sudden feelings. Maybe he just needs time and space to work through them himself first.
no subject
[ It almost certainly is, given what she knows of her own Bruce. But knowing it doesn't soothe her own hurt feelings all that much. ]
In the meantime... well. A drink is the cliché solution, is it not?
no subject
Still, she doesn't want to make drinks the only solution. ]
It is, but it also helps to talk things out. Someone I was once involved with had a similar habit - he'd run off when he had issues he thought he had to deal with on his own. [ She takes a contemplative sip. ]
... So I gave him room. Then when enough was enough, I made sure he knew he couldn't just take off again.
no subject
When enough was enough. Yes, precisely.
It's not an unusual reaction for him; it never has been for the version of him I know. He has a tendency to... isolate himself. Understandable, to a point.
[ She lifts her own drink, her expression half fond and half exasperated. ]
But I think it is swiftly coming to that point. After which I think I will have to make the same thing clear: taking off again would be... unwise.
no subject
Sometimes they do not believe that anyone could or should care that much. So you must be firm, and... forthcoming. Give them no reason to believe that you would lie about something like that.
[ She tips her head to the side, glancing over at her. ] And you do not strike me as someone who would lie about such things, Diana.
no subject
[ She reaches to the glowing, coiled cord at her hip, showing it to Ororo. ]
This is the lasso of truth. I couldn't speak a lie while I hold it even if I wanted to.
no subject
[ She's been very curious! It reminds her a little of Mjolnir, which she knows can only be wielded by those who fit some sort of criteria. She's never studied what that was, exactly, other than some arbitrary rule of worthiness. ]
no subject
[ Truth was always her mainstay, even before she became the champion of the Amazons and took her place as their ambassador to Man's World. The lasso was made for her hand; who else can, or could, wield it?
She smiles at Ororo over her drink. ]
But you have no need of tools, it seems. Your powers are remarkable.
no subject
But I won't deny that I've needed a weapon or tool before. [ Guns, staffs, swords. She'd tried a few things, out of necessity or because her friends have asked her to. Just in case. ] Knives in particular have served me well, when I am divorced from my powers.
